For those looking to put some more bulk food away during the current pandemic, check out:
Discount Freight and Grocery
5101 N Town Centre Dr.
Ozark, MO 65721
They are on the West side of Hwy 65 (south of Springfield).
As everyone is well aware of, most grocery stores are limiting purchase quantities. This place still allows purchasing food by the case or more.
I've been in there twice over the past year. Prices are very good. Head to the back of the store for case size purchases. You'll have to move the loose items off the cases.
Last trip was towards the end of February, maybe a week or 2 before the mad rush on everything. I grabbed 3 flats of Chicken Noodle Soup, a flat of Cream of Mushroom, flat of Cream of Potato Soup, and a flat of Pea Soup. Figure I can mix the soups with my rice (kept in rotation) and dry beans that I packed into Mylar with O2 absorbers, 10 years ago.
If you go for a visit, bring a cooler. They have frozen Hormel Pork Loin for $2 to $3 each - no limit. Walmart sells those for $8 to $10 each.
We bought a bunch and threw them in our chest freezer. They are a bit salty but good cooked on the grill for 20 minutes. Flipped every 5 minutes.
They also have non-labelled peanut butter which we have determined to be Skippy Chunky.
