Defiance--Good little survival movie

I concur, just watched my little Haji copy here in Iraq and this is a good little survival movie...bug out bags, living in the woods, lean-to shelters, scrounging for food, guerilla fighting...
Check it out, wide release Jan 16th per the website...

Several years ago Ray Mears did a program about this. He went to this huge forest in Belarus and met survivors from the Bielski brothers group who lived in the forest.

They told harrowing and inspirational stories, it was really quite moving. How they escaped the concentration camps and ran into the forest almost naked, how people froze to death and how the brothers' group found them and kept them alive.

Ray showed how to make a smokeless fire by using an underground chimmney and lots of other cool stuff.

I've had a look on youtube but can't seem to find it, if you ever get a chance to watch it please do.

Here's a little info on the Bielski brothers and their group.

Folks, see the thread "1940s Wolverines" for more information and for my positive take. I'm definitely seeing this on the silver screen!
