Deer hunting in texas

Texas is the size of some countries (you already know that). It all depends on what type of terrain you want to hunt.

Texas has some type 2 land, which is open to the public. Just get you a type II permit and a map of where type 2 land is. My uncle hunts type II and gets some big deer every year.

The other option is to check into some hunting leases. In west texas, there are more deer then people. Some counties allow something like 6 or 7 deer, per person, per year to be harvested.

Then, with the price of gas, how far do you want to drive into texas?

Deer Cam Picture

I am not sure there is enought deer to go around. This picture was taken in the Texas Panhandle located near my cabin and retreat area with a remote deer cam.
