This is true unfortunately. The only good part about this is that it made the Repub's realize that they don't have complete automatic control over every little bill that comes on the floor. Don't get me wrong, I'm more conservative than they are on most everything, but I don't like to see either side get so comfortable as to "know" what is going to happen on a bill before the voting even begins.

they needed to have a 2/3 vote to pass, 9 people abstained from the vote. if those 9 people would have voted to pass it rather then abstain, it would have passed. thats very very close in my mind.

I wrote my congressman instructing him to vote no on extending any of the intrusive elements. It is all we can do and is really in every sense our duty to inform our reps what our feelings are. There is nothing better then an informed district. They vote how the district votes or they get voted out:thumb: Kingfish

Let's see........... They forced the passing of ObamaCare, regardless of the will of the screaming people, with backroom deals, Arm twisting, payoffs with big taxpayer money going to certain projects in certain districts where the voting Senator or Rep was running for re-election.
Obama and the dummycraps tripled the debt "so far".
The News Media is nothing but a bunch of propaganda machines for the Whitehouse Socialists.
The newly appointed head of the BATF is an anti-gun zealot.
The Dept of "Homeland Security" (excuse me while I spit) believes people with a gun and Bible or anyone who criticizes the Government is a terrorist. They are funneling money to Radical Socialist organizations like Code Pink and ACORN.
The Dems and this administration are CONSTANTLY talking about Gun Control, whether you hear about it or not.
That's just the tip of the Iceberg. Do you really think repeal of the "Patriot Act" is going to make a difference with anything?

IMHO.... I don't disagree with most of this, but let us all remember that this president hasn't shown himself to be better or worse than those in the past. We all know the Patriot Act isn't new, now it's just legal. Republican? Democrat? Whatever. The problem is not about parties, liberals, conservatives, or other labels. it's about freedom, equality, right, wrong. Your comment

Could have stated:
Our elected representatives are funneling money to organizations
Until we start upholding the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and UNITING; we're going to be played like we've always been played. The only thing new is they are a little bolder and we are a little smarter.
When I can't have protection on MY property; When criminals get away because some overworked cop forgot to tell them they could keep their mouth shut after shooting someone cause they "disrespected" them; When students are taught the test so they can answer correctly rather than think for themselves and figure out answers..."Houston, we have a problem."
And that's IMHO...:D:
