Those of us who aren't fortunate enough to have a military or police license to buy this stuff, there is a loophole as you can buy all the pieces separately(Its about 500$ to buy all the pieces separately.). The real question is in an SHTF scenario how useful will this be?

Are there other suppliers selling it also? It's not a controlled item, so that is just that particular company's policy. You may find it elsewhere that will sell to you direct.

As for usefulness, I don't see much. It doesn't make you impervious by a long shot. And if one of them has a gun, well...

I'll take option B. If I'm boxed in my home I can't move much. However, I have several locations on my property where I can cover the entrances to the house and pick them off as they come and go.

I wonder how well this would fit under body armor, and if it might reduce the damage effects on the body... I mean you can have body armor, and take a direct hit, and have broken ribs and what not. If this wan't too bulky, and you could fit a vest over it, would it help to absorb the effects of a bullet, and reduce the damage effect?

Maybe I'm not a manly man but fighting a crowd of people seems a bit foolish unless I was truly ****ed and it was the last option I had.

Maybe your a badass, but unless I was super lucky I could Possibly take down or disable three people. (Highly unlikely without a weapon and the element of surprise)
And that's if I get a lot of lucky blows in, gearing up in some padding and fighting a mob head on is a bit foolish
Isn't it a rule of Guerilla warfare to retreat when facing a larger force and you don't already have an ambush setup?

Unless you have a platoon sized element backing you up against a crowd, you have lost already. This I could see against zombies (bite protection) but other than that they will overwhelm you with sheer numbers, drag you down and either beat you to death or stab you. When facing a large crowd you have two choices. Start shooting, or get the hell out of there! METT-C decides what you should do....
