Last night I was attempting to break the spot welds on the obtrusive handle of my old faithful 14oz GSI cup so it would nest in my new addition GSI 18oz cup/pot. Needless to say the surgery was not a success and "a holy cup does not a water molecule contain". Well since I had my cook kit out I off-hand dropped my alc stove evernew Ti cross stand into the rim and SHAZAM! A Perfect Fit!

I am going to nip tuck some vents into the cup a bit to make a good cook ring/wind screen as my Esbit alc. fits in the cup nicely too. Just thought I would share my haphazard discovery in case anyone is looking for a compact stainless cook setup for a nice cup' O Tea or soup on the trails . It also holds the big pot and pan nicely but I suspect heating time may be a bit longer.

Will be drilling in some lower air vents by the base in the near future.

Obviously when heating over flame the cozy comes off and the handles go on.

I guess that could be misconstrued  . I was just showing the practicality of it's use with the canteen cup. The cheapo canteen stove on the canteen cup I just keep around for my military nostalgia and I wouldn't rely on it for long term use.

Technically it is a stove on a cup which is on a stove which is on a stove or grill... Redundancy is my forte

Nice compact design :D I use an old coffee can which serves as a sterno/hobo stove . Put my utensils ( bagged ) and tinder ( bagged ) in it and a can of sterno . Cheap and works even when the sterno runs out .

I have put together a cook ring from an old can, the one I used seemed to get brittle over usage. I am thinking that using the SS cup might have better results. I will find out in the near future when I get some time to take this little guy out for a test. It nests nicely in the GSI 18oz cup and I am hoping it Nests outside of the Guyot 32oz bottle I ordered.

Where did you get the little cook grill from? I was looking for one for a portable stove where the cup is just a little too small to sit on the arms of the stove.
I picked up one of those cheap Cohlgans pocket/backpack grills and just traced to the cup and trimmed and sanded to fit. I would check you local hardware store for cheap grill grating or see what wally world has in the happy camper section.
