A few years ago, the feds took a very serious look at Muslim, Arab foreigners trying to rent crop dusting airplanes near larger American cities deeper inside our country. One of the old plans for Al Queda terrorists was to use crop dusting planes to deliver air distributed bio-hazardous (germ warfare) material for larger cities like Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City and so on. Chicago was strongly mentioned as a likely target because of the lake effect winds that would have spread the material a lot faster in the Loop Area of the town.
As I remember, the plan called for about 5 crop dusting planes to be rented. Four of the planes would be used to form a large box of contamination with the final plane to be a spare or "just in case" aircraft. Winds from Lake Michigan would accelerate the spread of the anthrax or whatever disease that they plan to use. So there you are shopping in the Loop and 4 airplanes fly over the area spraying germ warfare stuff into the air and forming a big box around you. There would be no way to leave the area without passing through the contamination in some fashion.
Has anybody heard anything additional about this devious plan to use crop duster airplanes to attack us?
