I was thinking about it because I have heard olive oil can actually replace kerosene in those kerosene lamps, and I know about the olive oil lamp made from a pop can. So does anyone know if rendered fat would be a viable substitute?

I'm talking specifically about it being used in those kerosene lamps here.

Oil won't work in a kerosene lamp. An oil lamp is designed differently.

Maybe you could get animal fat to work in an oil burning hurricane lamp, but not a kerosine lantern.
