Copenhagen Treaty

You guys Kiwis and Aussies aware that our leaders are queuing up to sign this NWO global carbon-tax treaty in Copenhagen next month?

Same one the yanks are getting ****ed at Obama signing.

Basically it secedes our soverignty to a governing global body that will administer and enforce carbon taxes in a very undemocratic manner.

Should our country wish to bail out of the deal at some stage that would then require agreement of ALL the member co-signies to "allow" us to leave the treaty/coalition.

It's some twisted bolllocks thats basically going to see us giving more to international bankers via outfits like the WorldBank and the International Monetary Fund - basically cover-organisations for private banking cartels.

This is really bad, it means more tax and more regulations.

Hopefully our leaders can miraculousy grow some balls in the next month but I somehow doubt it.

It is just another tax, money grab.

The corperates will benefit the most while joe six pack pays the price.

Now there is money with trading in pollution, net result will be zip.

All looks good for the media, appear to be doing something, win or lose a few votes, on a global scale they couldn't organise there way out of a wet paper bag.

The fossil fuel industry has too much of a strangle hold on this.

The clean energy such as solar and other technologies in this country have had their subsidies stuffed around, it can be made cheaper in availability, but no one makes a lot of money on cheap power, low cost power or energy technology.

It is all about greed, corruption, and BS.

While they BS to us about Co2 emmisions, it is not the only emmission for green house gasses, methane is another one, not publisized very much whether is is natural or manmade.

We often hear "fight climate change", it is a lost cause, gone too far, some say it a natural cycle but nearly 7 billion people on the planet isn't helping.

Better to try an adapt to it, as life on this planet has done for millions of years.

Or else what? they will invade you? drop a nuke on your capital city?

Treaties get broken all the time, I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to leave....

As others have said, its just another tax, another layer of government. Sure it annoys me, but hopefully some good things will come of it.

Yeah, basically.

The same outfits running this wrought are the same ones founding the WTO etc.

Wouldn't take much pressure from the WTO to make most of our politicians think their fu-fu valve were about to drop out and have them cowing in submission REGARDLESS of public opinion (like that ever counts for anything nowdays).

You have a point for national leaders. Howard started off OK but then brought in gun bans that (insert much explicitness here)

I actually liked Steve Bracks as Victorian premier though.. so we have only had dodgy choices there for a couple of years.

On a local level we have had some pretty decent mayors recently too.
