Converting a AR-15 to single shot for hunting?

I want to take a deer this year with my suppressed 300 Blackout. Using a semi auto centerfire is illigal here in PA for deer. Instead of buying another rifle, what is the cheapest way to legally convert this to a single shot?

I was reading the account of another guy in PA. He called and the officer said it's as simple as if it can or cant fire semi. Most wardens are WAY more competent with firearm function than a police officer. I considered just getting a single shot mag adapter. I'm not buying a new bolt or upper. I can get a Ruger All American 300 BLK for under $450. That's what Id like to do, but money is super tight this year. The reality is I'm hunting private land, I just want to stay within the law. Maybe I just wont bring a magazine. Lol

JMHO- find out exactly who the game
warden is for the area you'll be hunting at.
Arrange to meet somewhere and ask him
face-to-face exactly what will be legal and
what will not be legal.
He'll be the one writing the ticket or
cuffing you, so get it straight from his
mouth beforehand when you're looking
at him so he cannot say that yall never
had a telephone conversation.
There's no room for error at all that way.

Several good suggestions so far.

I do think one of the best ones is from Max Pinson. If you talk to your warden ahead of time and he gives you the ok, then you are home safe.

After that, I'd go the gas tube removal route. Simple and easy to put back.

I’ve never seen it done but it seems like simply removing the gas block or gas tube is a good way to burn your hand with hot gases ejecting from the m gas orifices block. If your gas block is not integrated into your sights or vanguard assembly I would reverse it to block the gas port so you won’t burn your hand or shoot hot gasses and carbon at your face.

Taking off the gas block on a set screw unit isn’t hard, but you’ll have a jet of gas popping out the top unless you cover the port. Best option…put a spare gas block on upside down, no gas flow in any direction.

Realistically, that’s the cheapest easiest way. You could spend more, and buy a barrel specifically for the use, change out your barrel, or even build a dedicated non-gas upper.

Or…..
Pin on bolt action upper, hunting accurate, $200-$250. I have 5.56 and 7.62x39.

BCA bolt action.

Or go for better. Uintah Precision, $1400 and up.

UP 15

Technically you could just take the magazine out lol. Actually I think they make single shot magazines (called sleds) fwiw- idk if that counts as a conversion- Check you local laws. Perhaps you'd need a fixed mag release to go with it or something.

Or do as others suggested, kali key bolt, reverse your gas block etc.

PA laws can be a little silly. Recently I learned that if you lean your loaded weapon against your car you can be charged lol.

Well that's a load of crap...

I have numerous deer rifles. I want to take a deer in a location that a suppressed shot would be best. It's a legal area, but a supersonic rifle crack would likely cause neighbors to be very unhappy.

Best choice is to contact them,like others said.When I left Mo.years ago,they started adding a ton of new seasons/opportunities for deer..youth,black powder,alternative,handgun,crossbow.. primative.even a spear(Atali?)on and on.Some overlapped,other were seperate.
Even if it was an honest mistake, lots of tickets were written.
Duck/waterfowl got that way 30-40 years ago, easy to break the regs and not even know it.
Check and double check with them.
