I' m new to this forum and haven't had a chance to check all the past posts out so don't know if this has been covered in the past.

How about some instruction on conibear traps, sizes and basic usage of them? Thanks.

Hi Blair,

First welcome to the forums.

'Fraid I can't help you on the traps - no experience with them. However, I did want to let you know that the forums do have a search function (check out the menu bar towards the top). Don't know if you'll find the info you're looking for, but it might be worth a shot.

cheers,
-Per.
Hello, Blair. Welcome.

Start here for some good basic conibear information:

Per: Thanks. I missed the search feature. Glad it wasn't dangerous or I would be hurting.

Freedomofthehills: Just looking for basic usage info. I've used legholds before but not for years. Thinking that conibears would do a better job, especially in a tough situation. Thanks for the link.

Per has some great advice, the is a site

In the past i have had limited experience with them. They come in at least 3 sizes, 110, 220, and 330's.

the 110, you can set with your hands, i have used them for muskrats, i guess mink also.
the 220's can be set with your hands but a tool is easier, i have used them for racoons and otter sets.
the 330 you have to use a tool to set them, my brother and i used them for beavers mostly.

We used them in the water where a creek would narrow down or trees made a narrow opening.
