Knots are an important part of wilderness survival. In this video I tie some rather common and simple knots. There are dozens of other knots and lashings out there so check out my site where I have some links to great knot tying sites.

Tell me what you guys think of my new video. In it, I ask to post a video response, so if you have a youtube, go for it! If not post it here.

thx for the vid. the knots i use most are the bowlin(sp), running bowlin, square knot, clove hitch, and the "******** come along"(used as a bite to tighten up loads)

but remember a good knot, holds, dont damage the rope, tied ez and also is ez to untie.

i like using the bow line when its something under load or life rescuing. other knots that are awesome that I use are square, cow, double fish, slip, truckers hitch, half hitch, rollin hitch, clove hitch, sheet bend, sheepshank, carrick bend, water knots, and I like to sailors whip the ends.

being a cub and boy scout helped a lot as well as my Naval time. Now my son is going up the ranks currently a webelos. love some knots!
