hi, i've been looking into a commercial alcohol stove, specifically a vargo triad xe which i like because it can easily us solid fuel tablets, or a vargo decagon, which seems very durable, both stoves have had mixed reviews so i was hoping someone could steer me one way or the other. i'm open to other suggestions as well though i'd like to stick with alcohol because i like how cheap it is and how readily available it is. thanks in advance for any advice

SP,

My personal stove is the Vargo XE. Of course I have all of Vargo's stoves, but I really like the idea that I can drop a fuel tab in there and I'm good. The burn time on the XE is probably a bit longer than the Decagon, about 5 minutes more when running Alcohol. The nice thing about the Decagon, is that there are no moving parts. But thats just about it. My favorite hands down is the XE.

I personaly like propaine stoves.. why you turn it on.. turn it off when done.. you can adjust the heat at will.. Yes the cansters tend to weight more then fuel but they can come just as small.. with achoal stoves once you light it you have to wait till its done burning out.. but with propaine you dont waste fuel in a way.. Thats why I like it.. also.. its less effected by the wind as well...

I have everykind of stove all the gases white gas ect.. but propaine is way more convenant..
