SOCIALISM 101

This is for all you educated people that think uneducated people are dumb. Let's see how this works out for you and your family if this country keeps pushing for socialism.

CRITICAL LIFE LESSON .

"Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"..

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime. In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question.
He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free food".

"When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence". "They get used to that and start to eat again.

You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side". "The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd".

"Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America . The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time as the government forces us to participate in many of these programs whether or not we want to.

One should always remember two truths: There is no such thing as a free lunch, and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself. If you see that all of this wonderful government "help" is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to share this with your friends.

God help us all when the gate slams shut!

Problem is, many of the younger generation would happily trade their freedoms for free programs.
They have all been indoctrinated with Brainwashing 101. They are taught that socialism and communism are good things that better care of its citizens. They are not taught about the mass murders associates with communism or the extremely high taxes associates with socialism.

The problem started in the 1960s when the Democrats took over the public education systems.

"The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living!"
I don't have any issue with limiting voting rights to those who work and contribute taxes to the country. When someone doesn't have a dog in the fight to keep taxes low, they are much more likely to vote for tax increases on others to pay for their own freebies.

The right to vote is not protected by the Constitution, as we are frequently told.

What the Constitution and Its Amendments Say About Voting Rights

If work or contributing taxes was a requirement for voting rights, the Democrats could never win another election.

If the US government cut all subsidies, the country would collapse. This "free market" that so many believe in can't sustain a civilization. You and me bartering oranges and goats ain't going to build a bridge.

The problem is that the US government refuses to admit that it runs a controlled economy and still insists on propagandizing all of us from birth with the "capitalist" mantra.

The trouble we have in western political systems is we keep running back and forth between taming the wild pigs and letting them run wild.

Why not? We went from colonial backwater to one of the most powerful nation-states under a free market (1607-1913).

Not free but it sure is satisfying once you have it.

I would love to see voting "rights" restricted to those of us that have skin in the game. A lot of problems this country faces would evaporate.
Define "skin in the game". I suspect that you and I will disagree on this point. Not having skin in the game, but what that actually entails.

My idea of skin in the game is working and contributing to society.

If you are on welfare being provided by taxing those of us who work, then you shouldn't be able to vote for politicians whose basic platform is to simply take more from the working and give it to the welfare.

What of those who have worked a long portion of their life and contributed to society, and then are forced to live upon some form of social assistance due to any number of reasons beyond their control?

Do you really want to punish those who want to work, but can't?

Once we start limiting voting to citizens who work and contribute, who's voting rights will be next on the chopping block?

Just as long as paying income taxes isn't a requirement. IMO, income taxes are theft pure and simple. They make a mockery of property rights and personal freedom.

People that contribute by working, paying taxes and basically playing by the rules, skin in the game.

Then there's the people who take and give nothing back and vote for more of the same. Able bodied people mooching off of us shouldn't have a say in anything.

Don't mind helping those who need it but I hate being taken advantage of time and time again.

Paying what/which taxes? Income taxes are theft.
