Hi to all,
just wondering if anyone has had experence with chinese handmade bows

would love to know if these are the goods . or not?

Look in the sticky section above for Bowyers and check in the Oriental bow section for a number of reputable makers of Magyar/Mongol style bows.

It looks to be a well made, well dressed and very pretty bow and for about what you can get them here from the makers for the $288.99 Australian Dollar converts to $305.42 USD.

I shoot that style of bow but not by that maker.

I bought one not long ago. I looked at the ones sold on Ebay by the guy out of Europe, but the shipping was as much as the bows were. I saw these other ones. I tend to avoid things made in China.

But I was wondering how they could actually screw up something they have been making for over 2000 years. Surely this would be something simple enough they could make them for a good price but not be junk.

I looked at my ebay page, its a different seller than the one your asking about, but looking at the 2 bows I will say the same place is making them. I took the risk and bought one, the one I bought was a more basic model, I think it was about 100$ US. A 50# model.

I half expected it to snap just putting the string on it. But actually has turned out to be a pretty nice bow. I will probably go back and buy a second one, I was looking at the Mongol style this time.

FYI. Samick bows are mass produced in Korea. I have two. Both were exceptional bows for the money. Trad guys are starting to accept the fact that they are quality bows.
Today i shoot an insanely expensive Black Widow, but if i saw a Samick at a good price, id not hessitate to buy it!
Who made all the bows used by the US olympic team, (and pretty much every other team for that matter)? Samick from Korea!
Lancaster archery is the biggest Samick dealer here in the US.
The orientals can and do make quality bows!
