Not allowed.

Also not allowed.

If you escalate, the other side will too. And the problem is one side is wayyyyy better at it than the other one.

And then be prepared for all out war.

Funny thing is both the Chinese and Indian police/military do commonly make us of crossbows (good way to put down a potential suicide bomber without setting off his vest). Just not on the border.

Slashing swords aren't as useful against good body armor. If you did use a sword, you might be better off with an estoc or rapier or something else more in use at the time of full plate armor.

Though, if I'm going medieval and not using a mace, I think I would want a knightly pollaxe.

First of all India can no longer even see their line. They've been pushed that far into India. :ROFLMAO:

And second... this is the CHINESE Army... not your neighborhood butt-burglar whom you might be able to booby-trap with punji-sticks. Armies don't fall into tiger pits.

And third, if anyone can dig a hole in that cold rocky ground, I will give them a medal.
Idle thought... are horses and lances allowed? (Possibly not, since the infantry might be using pikes along with the maces if they could.) And is the terrain conducive to the use of men-at-arms?

Both China and India have horse-mounted troops. I don't know if having them ride forth upon the field of honour with shield and lance in hand would really be practical... but it would be funny.

Wait until they go to sleep and then stab them in the head. Just a thought.

Apparently, a "Cold Weapon" is a weapon that doesn't fire anything.

According to the rules, neither side is allowed to use guns along the Line of Actual Control (the China-India border). So the Chinese killed over 40 Indians with bats and took 2000 square kilometers of Indian territory two years ago.

And judging from the new order of spiky weapons, they are in no mood to give India back whatever they took.

These spiked weapons have become a common feature at the Line of Actual Control between India and China.

According to some reports, the People’s Armed Police in Tianjin have used maces in the past to take on criminals during patrolling. PLA troopers have also been trained to use maces in combat.

Another report has highlighted that the PLA placed an order to buy 2,600 such maces.

The length of the mace is around 1.8 metres. It consists of three parts — the hammer head, the rod body, and the rod drill.

The hammer head is about 50 cm, equipped with fine steel spikes and sharp corners at both ends, machined, welded and quenched to ensure strength. The rod body is made of zinc steel pipe.

The head of the long stick was covered with long thorns.

The weapon is a combined mace — which means the spikes can be separated from the rod if required.

Some versions might be capable of working as a stun "taser".
The weapon looks like the writing!

Indians do the same chicken dance on their side of the gates. The moves are mirrored.

Will the Chinese be impressed with that? I say they try that ceremonial stuff .. in a real tense battle area... and find out.

That's what started the fight. Some Indians ambushed four sleeping or relaxing Chinese soldiers and the Chinese then retaliated with bats and spiky clubs.

Maybe.... don't think anyone ever tried it.

As for horses.... they can't take the high altitude very well. We play a game of polo every year at Shandoor.... the air is so thin, the horses have to be given booster shots or else they can get a heart attack.

Shandoor is at 12,500 feet. The Indo-Chinese LAC along Galwan is at almost 18,000 feet. Poor horses won't do very well around there, specially if you ride them as in battle ... they need lots of oxygen.

Completely forgot about the high altitude.

Yeah, if polo ponies have trouble in those conditions, I would hate to see what it might do to medieval-style destriers.

And DEW are allowed (Directed Energy Weapons).

Indians were occupying a hilltop and the Chinese wanted them off that hill. A Chinese engineer rigged up a radar of some sort and fired it at the hill. In a few minutes, the Indians were seen dancing in pain and they ran away and the Chinese took that hill.

Professor Jin claimed the weapon worked “beautifully” on the Indian soldiers, without violating the “no gunfire” agreement between the parties.

“In 15 minutes, those occupying the hilltops all began to vomit,” he said reportedly told his students during a lecture.

“They couldn’t stand up, so they fled. This was how we retook the ground.”

Professor Jin said the reason China didn’t publicise the event was because it was so successful, adding that India also kept the incident under wraps because “they lost so miserably”.

:(

...I can't use guns in a battle, I want to send in a charge of lancers.
...they can't use guns in a battle, they use death rays instead.

I think I know who's going to win WWIII...
