i remember reading a while back that if you mixed manganese dioxide and potassium permanganite that the reaction would start a fire.

but i think I've got the names mixed up. would someone clarify?

thanks ponce, but what I'm asking about was something that Les Stroud used in a survivor man episode to start a fire with. it looked like a useful thing to know about and maybe even keep in the bob.
