Have not had any problems. You have to remenber guns are like trucks. Some people will bad mouth a brand based on here say . Even if they never tried that brand. You know the story My Ford is better than your chevy,my harley is better than your import. Etc. etc. etc.

I actually have a Saiga .308 [16 in. barrel]. It has a Tapco G2 trigger, some kind of "tacticool" Choate stock, and an ANVS 4x24 illuminated scope. It is a great gun, but it doesn't really fit my style. There is something about it that I just don't like. To be honest, I am thinking about getting rid of it or trading its value in for something in bolt action for longer range. It is great for a semi-auto, but it feels like I can get much better accuracy and range out of a .308.
I also have a standard AK, and while it is not as accurate, I enjoy shooting it a bit more.
Your experience may vary.
I don't have anything negative to say about the Saiga - I just wanted to give my impression of it. Nothing will beat hands-on experience, but I imagine the more "reviews" you read before making a decision, the better, especially if you do not have the option of trying one out.

I have one and love it. Just be sure to put 7.62x51 ammo thru it and not .308 rounds. The .308s' will work, but can cause trouble. You need the thicker necked milsurplus stuff. Save up and go for the HK91. You will not be dissapointed.

I thought the thread was about CETMEs. I like Saigas too and think they're one of the best values on the market. But the OP wasn't asking about them, he was asking about the CETME. I wish I trusted Century enough to buy one. At this point in time, I just don't. Just like their FALs, they've put out too many trouble prone ones.

I have had 2 of them one takes the surplus g3 mags the other only likes steel mags. and I don't like the sights on either one. wish there was a way to attach an ar a-2 type rear sight. I was told if you by anything from century be preppered to fix it,but I've had decent luck with their rifles. YMMV.....good luck
