I actually have a Saiga .308 [16 in. barrel]. It has a Tapco G2 trigger, some kind of "tacticool" Choate stock, and an ANVS 4x24 illuminated scope. It is a great gun, but it doesn't really fit my style. There is something about it that I just don't like. To be honest, I am thinking about getting rid of it or trading its value in for something in bolt action for longer range. It is great for a semi-auto, but it feels like I can get much better accuracy and range out of a .308.
I also have a standard AK, and while it is not as accurate, I enjoy shooting it a bit more.
Your experience may vary.
I don't have anything negative to say about the Saiga - I just wanted to give my impression of it. Nothing will beat hands-on experience, but I imagine the more "reviews" you read before making a decision, the better, especially if you do not have the option of trying one out.
