humm welll :D
Do you speak french please Eth0, maybe but not always...
That would be the translation of what you wrote. Let say that it's not perfect but hey...I can understand what you try to say so

I believe my German should look like that since I don't speak often (almost never) and can't practice at all.

It's cool to see people at least "try"

I studied french in high school. 30 years later I'd guess it went something like "J'etudie le francais en l'ecole" ... fully expecting it to be less than perfect. lol.

A few years ago I took my teenage daughter to Paris and was thrilled to discover I didn't need a phrase book. All the basics like foods, numbers, days, directions, etc seemed to rise from the depths of my brain and kept me out of trouble.

It was so much fun that I rarely asked anyone if they spoke English ... I just grinned and began every conversation with "Je parle le francais un peu, monsieur ..." and then asked my question.

My daughter took up French by correspondence when we returned and now she's planning her own trip to test out her French.
:)
PS Pleased to report I understood everything in your initial post except 'bref', Qu'est ce c'est?

Bref means "in short", we use it to resume a phrase and go directly to a point

bref c'est ce que je voulais dire, in short this is what I have/had to say

hope it's clear

French is one of the world's language that is really tough to learn.

I guess from someone that haven't speak or heard French before, it is as difficult as learning the chinese/Cantonese.

Even me, I made a lot of mistake in both French and English!! grammar is my worst part!

Cajun is also a far and old "slang" French.
There is major difference in the French from Québec (Canada) and France. I guess it's the same if we consider the English of the Brits, Yankees and the Australians...

But if you guys want to learn a bit, come over here!! There will be the 400th anniversary of Québec city this summer. A big party that you don't wanna miss!
