I made my annual Christmas hot cocoa mix and was wondering if it would store long term. I am procrastinating (waiting to recover from Christmas spending) buying my mylar bags. I do have a foodsaver vacuum system.

My homemade mix consists of; powdered milk, powdered sugar, powdered coffee creamer and real powdered cocoa. I am guessing the combination or the sugar is going to make this go funky fast.

Any suggestions?

so long as the mix stays dry I do not see why the combination would not last as long as the individual ingredients.

Allforhim-

I make and store homemade hot chocolate mix. The longest I have stored it before use is 12 months. The first batches were stored w/ a Foodsaver in jars using the jar attatchment. I have another batch stored in snack and quart sized food storage bags and then vac sealed inside Foodsaver bags. The resulting little packs are firm, but not rock hard. These packs are about eight months old and I'm starting to use them now to check them; they look, smell and taste good so far.

My basic recipie is the same as yours, sometimes I put in a teeny bit of cinnamin.
