It's hard to understand the anti-gun mindset, because it seems wholly based in ignorance.
For example, SB-47 wants to ban the use of what are called bullet buttons, which are a device that replaces the standard mag release and require a small tool to release the magazine, by current California law, this makes the firearm a fixed magazine firearm.
Here's the wording from the bill, describing what will now be considered a Fixed Magazine.
(b) For purposes of this section, “fixed magazine” means an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action.
Disassembly of the firearm action? Hell, when an AR-15 mag is empty the action is disassembled already, as the BCG is back way too far to be blown back, if it's forward, the action still can't operate, as it requires gas from the round. Disassembly can't be taking the bolt carrier group apart or changing the gas port as no court would support that interpretation.
Where does California find these people that write laws?
Heck, maybe with the law, we can just get rid of the silly bullet buttons.
