Any recipe that begins with "fry 4 slices of bacon crisp" has GOT to be good!!

1 small head of cabbage
4 slices of bacon fried crisp
1 16 oz container of tomato sauce
parmesan cheese

Fry bacon crisp, set aside. Quarter and core cabbage, place cabbage quarters in hot bacon grease and brown on both sides. When browned pour tomato sauce equally over cabbage quarters, cover and simmer until tender, plate, sprinkle chopped fried bacon and parmesan cheese over cabbage and serve.

Simple and delicious!

Have you made this yet? Sounds like it might be good.

My wife cooks a cabbage dish that is basically the same without the tomato sauce.

Cook the bacon. set aside.
Cut up the cabbage and cook in a sauté pan with a little chicken broth until tender.
Drain,
crumble the bacon and add back.
Briefly sauté.
Serve

A twist I do sometimes when grilling out.

Small cabbage,remove outer leafs

turn upside down and core,a little larger than just the core so it makes a bigger pocket

fill core with cooked diced bacon and bbq suace

set on large sheet of foil, pour leftover bacon grease all over it,then wrap/a little bit loose

set in grill for 30 minutes or so

something everyone will at least try

I had almost forgotten about mom's Halupki until reading this thread.
I hate cabbage as a rule, but this stuff was pure heaven on earth.

I don't know what her recipe was, but found this which sounds about right, except for the eggs.
She might have included some tomato paste on top as well.
She would secure each leaf with a round toothpick that I would miss occasionally and almost kill myself on when inhaling these

I love cabbage! I'll cut a head in half and boil it. And I'll just eat it with salt and pepper. Mmm. Mmm.

I'll give this one a go. It looks a lot more flavorful.

I grew up on Kraut Burgers. Sliced cabbage, diced bacon and ground beef. Dice the bacon and fry it. Combine the ground beef and cook through. Then add the cabbage and cook until the cabbage is wilted. Then place on hamburger buns. One of my favorites from being a kid.
