The brand of BUSHNELL has a new series of scopes that have what is called the firefly reticle. With the FIREFLY RETICLE you are supposed to shine a flashlight into the scope for about 10 seconds. HERE IS MY QUESTION.
Do you, on a firefly scope, have to shine the light in it or does it come preset with a normal, black reticle; DO YOU HAVE TO LIGHT IT UP?????

Get a BSA scope w/illuminated reticle, eliminate the PIA of diggin' out yer flashlite and shinin' down your scope.

It is a black normal reticle, and once you shine the flashlight on it, it will make it glow. Seems like a horrible system to me... I agree, go with an illuminated... I use the bushnell banner 3-9x40e
