Burglar killed breaking into state trooper's home - MASH HERE

The burgler is probably wishing he had vetted his mark a little better and not chosen a State Trooper's place to hit ....

Anyway, it just happened so I'm sure more to this story is coming.

Guy should be nominated for a Darwin Award. I love the caption on the picture. "Scene of invasion ... homeowner okay ... intruder isn't."

Just another reason to be armed and ready ....

I was told this past weekend that our "castle doctrine" also applies to our vehicles. That we can carry openly in our vehicle without having to have a concealed carry license. I'm talking about handguns, not hunting weapons.
Anyone have any solid info on this?
The castle law has been extended to vehicles as it is an extension of your home now, you can carry concealed in your car without a license, but if you shoot someone in your car, every damn part of your body better be in the vehicle or the castle doctrine is thrown out the window, just a heads up. Also, when I say concealed, I mean that you can have it in the passenger seat, covered up by a sheet of paper, and it will be considered legal.

God I love Texas.

And the officer may still be sued by the burglar's family. In that way he is no different than you or anyone else.

The officer had a right to defend his home and family. In that way he is no different than you or anyone else.

If he had done something illegal in shooting the intruder, he would have been arrested. In that way he is no different than you or anyone else.
