Bug-out house (as opposed to a buggy out-house)

Saw an article on FOX News and followed their link.

It’s a very cute idea:

Here’s a video of the designer’s story:

No, I do not represent this company:

They also sell house and cottage plans:

I have not investigated this with the idea of how utilitarian it is. This fellow’s ideas are simply cute and thought it might generate some smiles ... maybe some ideas. One thing did cross my mind, however. Say you wanted a bug-out trailer, but couldn’t convince your spouse – hey, these tiny/mobile houses being so adorable might change someone’s mind. Too, this fellow has put a lot of thought into this already – he lives in one of these. He’s probably experienced a bunch of problems already and hopefully fixed some of his mistakes. Several centuries back, I owned wooded acreage, but then these kids started popping out of my wife (what causes that?!). Now that the kids are grown, the idea of having a cottage seems more and more reasonable. I could put a tool shed out back.

That is very cool. But what is the advantage of that over a small travel trailer? Looks like it would cost a lot more.

vs. travel trailer

Many, if not most, travel trailers have more accoutrements and are larger. This little cabin thingy is simply cute and doesn't have the trailer "look". Also, this company sells plans for dinky cabins and cottages. And like I said, if a fellow couldn't sell the idea of a trailer to his wife, she might think this rolling cabin cute enough to live with. Let's face it, Airstream trailers are indeed of the highest quality, yet they look like a large rounded tin can. The community perception of a trailer is, "Oh god no, the Joneses have a trailer!" People iz people.

If I were single I'd be outta here. I don't think I could live with another person in such a small space but it's a great bug out idea.
