I searched for bug out bag and bobs and it says sorry nothing. I am looking for lists to see if I am on the right track. My bag feels really heavy but it was heavy empty and I havent added food.

There are thousands. If its heavy empty just get a large/medium ALICE pack with frame. Keep in mind that you wont be able to go on amazon and search bug out bag and get results. You need a military surplus pack or a good civilian hiking bag.

#1 advice, go to You Tube and search bug out bags. People show off their BOBs contents. Make a list of items or good ideas you see there. This was how I got mine together. It might sound crazy but you'll be suprised at some peoples ideas.

I can never get searches to work either, but if you scroll down to the bottom of the search page, you'll be able to find the cloud, and in bold you'll see bug out bag. Just click on that and you'll have what you're looking for.

I can't understand why search engines can be made to search on three letter words (plus a space) or a three letter word and an asterisk..

I never noticed the list of searched down at the bottom of the advanced search page.

I've just been looking at contents listed on the "pre-packed" B.O.B.'s on online stores and been creating an inventory on my computer while i pack the items I've gathered. Its helped me see my priorities. Im gonna laminate the list and keep it in my B.O.B. for quick reference.

What I did was to create an Excel spreadsheet with a tab for my EDC, my GHB, and my BOB. I highlight the items in the EDC or BOB that need to be transferred to my BOB (which is also my camping bag). I also highlight things that need to be checked/done ahead of time (if I have warning or plan to use it), like charge/top off batteries, freeze ice packs, fill canteens, etc.

In the past I did not always leave my BOB all packed ready to go so I would use the spreadsheet as a checklist. Also, the pack varies depending on the season, so it would be a reminder to replace the long johns with a T shirt and shorts. Further some things I used to use on a daily basis like a cell phone charger, but now i have duplicates and don't need to add the daily use item to the pack.

This is a list from another site that has nothing to do with what you've got???

How old are you and does your mom know you're on the computer?

You know, one more thread on bug out bags wont hurt... he's new, lets throw the man a bone. :)

For a get home bag I have a Maxpedition Falcon 2. For a bug out bag, I have a condor 3 day assault pack.

I also have a scouting bag, and an assault pack. This is for when I am at my BOL or BIL and I am in need to defend or patrol it.

What you need varies on the objective, so I try to have something ready for what ever comes along.

To be perfectly fair you can't successfully search on BOB. Yes there are some terms upon which people might like to search that are shown at the bottom of the advanced search page, but I never noticed them until they were pointed out in this thread.

It's too bad the search engine would not allow searching on BOB* or any three letter acronym as we use a lot of them here.
