Looking for a few recommendations for binoculars. Really don't want to spend more than $100.

For $100 you might as well pick up any "house" brand (cabela's, bass pro, gander mountain, etc) brand in that price range. They will be about the same quality and durability and you will get good value for your money in that price range. There may also be a few options on various sizes for your specific purposes.

CDNN bought out the stock from Tasco a couple years ago, and has been selling a set of 10x25 binos that retailed for $199, for under $30.
These are very well reviewed, Japanese manufactured, with FULLY multi-coated lenses, and are of much higher quality than Tasco's later models manufactured in other Asian countries.
I have been eying these for quite a while, and just recently grabbed one when CDNN offered a free shipping coupon, and I'm quite happy with them.
While they're not as nice as my Steiners ( nor nearly as expensive), they're quite the bargain for the money.

P.S. I'm admittedly a bit of an optics-snob, but don't listen to those that will tell you that anything costing less than several hundred dollars is junk not worth buying.

Last week my Dad gave me a Bushnell, Its $65 here on the navy base. Bushnell Powerview 42mm with 10x magnification and rubber armor exterior. Its not too big and not too small, field of vision is great too. also comes with a nylon foam carrying case but I need a better carrying case for it.

Before you set a price limit or even budget you have to be honest what you intend to use them for. I own a pair of Swarovski binos I invested about 2000.00 on. I say invested because Swaros increase price every year, they will probably be worth about what I paid for them 5 years down the road. I am a glasser. That is, I will spend days on the mountain glassing for a mulie buck I am after. That is my personal style, stealth and glassing off a tripod for days at a time. Now, if I were bowhunting whitetails from a deer stand, I would be nuts to spend that kind of money for a pair on binos. I saved three years for these, hiding the money from my wife, who I knew would blow a gasket if she ever found out what I really spent.;) I am a firm believer in getting the best gear you can, even if that means using cruddy stuff until you have the money. Now I am going to say something many will not like. I would rather spend 49 bucks on a cheap pair at Kmart, then 350.00 pair. The 49.00 pair will probably last just as long, w/o the cost. In the world of optics, there is good glass and bad glass, anything in between is a waste of money. FYI, I have owned cheap, not so cheap, and expensive.

Sorry,vv, the CDNN free-shipping thing seems to happen maybe once a year. They do offer reduced shipping fairly often ( $7.99-9.99). But,they have enough cool stuff that it's usually not too difficult to find something else you just gotta have to help justify placing an order, or get a freind to go in on an order and split shipping. :thumb:
