The bikers were denied a permit to ride two million vehicles through the streets of our nation's capital, ignoring every stop sign and red light, on the anniversary of a terrorist attack. Of course they were denied.

And now the day before their protest they are reporting that their number is down from two million to "thousands"? Maybe the other 1,997,000 or so bikers finally figured out that they were being scammed.

 

I'm thinking they are going to turn up about 1.95 million short at best. If there were 2 million bikers on American highways tonight riding for DC in the morning, don't you think SOMEBODY would have noticed? Maybe even old Glenn??

 

They would have just "enough" Riders to catch the attention they need from all the Folks they need it from.

Well, if I was still riding, I'd be going too. (And I hate riding in DC... it's supposed to be 90 degrees today, too - in leathers; yuck!!)

Officially, it's in remembrance of 9/11 and BENGHAZI. And they will be getting media attention... in a positive way. This morning, I was reading that the local LEOs along the way are being very helpful - including in DC.

The ride to the Wall, on Memorial Day is something to behold. If they get at least that many, it will make a statement all right. Especially since they'll be getting through DC at rush hour.

 

 

The video CC linked is 1 minute 30 seconds of wall to wall motorcycles and extends as far as the eye can see. I think there are more than one group because my understanding is the 'official group' is coming from Maryland and this was reported as being in Va.

 

They were denied a permit because its obviously not an 0bama-loving group. If the group was called "Bikers for 0bongo" then they wouldn't be denied a permit.

 

My opinion is that the bikers would be covered under the million American's march permit. I always see Bikes, motorcycles, seguays, go carts, golf carts etc... participating in these events.

 

How does riding a motorcycle to DC honor those that died?

 

I have done a few Military funerals and Plane side honors. Motorcycle riders have always participated to Guard the Fallen from dumb asses like West Baptist and whomever tried to disrupt a Military funeral, so I believe their riding shows a lot of Honor that died.

I'd consider riding to DC for the "Ride In", but I can't imagine having to sit in traffic with all those "Throttle Blippers" for the WHOLE DAY!
My water cooled bike would do great there. Heck sub 90 degree days would be a cold front for me and my bike.
We're still bumping 100+ here in North Texas.

Besides I've got a ride planned to the East Coast next month.
So I've got to watch my budget.

Yes, that was in Va. - I recognize the trooper; probably I-66. There are groups riding in from all over, the ride will run from Stafford into DC that direction, according to the fb page. Fox will have live aerials this afternoon.

I dunno; one video clip from Western Md. was 7 minutes of nothin' but bikes coming east on 60-68 or maybe I-70. Est 500 from Stafford Co.; looked to be a couple hundred from Richmond... and the main group is in Ft. Washington, Md... and are on 495 now. Traffic cams picked them up...

It's gonna be a LOT more than symbolic; now if we can just get more than the usual "man in the street" video... Fox said they were gonna cover it by air. Nothing on the website yet...
