Well, as you know the .45 ACP is a powerful round;
This means you will undoubtedly need some sort of recoil buffer like the HK45 or USP, or a heavy gun like the 1911 with enough weight to counteract the propellant of the bullet, or an extremely snappy action, like the 1911 or Sig.
However when it comes to concealed carry, you'll probably want a light polymer frame; a short 3.25" barrel 1911 is still fairly bulky and with that polymer frame you lose the advantage of the 1911 weight. The only options left in my mind are HK or Sig (as second choice for this role).
Don’t settle for some other line, or a revolver. If you want a good gun, buy the best, even if you have to save a little while.
