If you really wanted something like that you could build one for a couple of bucks instead of spending $40 on it plus shipping. I personally wouldn`t want my shotgun stuck to the bed but to each their own.

 

I keep my shotgun in my closet, on the top shelf. It's 5 steps after getting out of bed. Cant see it from the doorway. Works for me.

 

Could I talk you into a pistol by the bed instead?

When the covers are down, no one knows it's there.

 

I keep mine leaning against the corner by my nightstand and use a piece of painted coroplast to cover it. Masking tape hides the joints and all I have to do is peel it off. Invisible from more than 3 feet away and very easy to access. I have a similar set up for my pistols throughout the house.

I have had a "back-up" for a year or so. To me it is the ideal way to get to the gun fast. Also pile some clothes on the floor and keep an extra shotgun under them. The main idea is to STAY READY.:thumb:

 

Just put it under the bed.....
Throw a towel over it if you want.

My Remchester Mossbrowning just lays under the bed, waiting.

 

Mine sits between the mattress and the headboard.

 

Take a smooth blanket or a canvas tarp (works best, I've found) etc and fold it in half and stick it between the mattress and the boxsprings. Leave just a 4-5" fold sticking out to function as a sheath. Slip your gun into that. The tarp works best since it's smooth and it has some body to it. Put it down to the foot enough so the grip falls right at your hand.

That backup idea is a decent one, but only until you ram your shin against it and take out a chunk of flesh.

As to handguns near the bed etc....anyone else here ever woke up and found your gun in your hand from a bad dream? You will eventually. Pray to God that it doesn't wake you up to the sound of a shot. I used to keep a Ruger Security Six in a holster beside the bed right beside my head. I woke up from a nightmare with it in my hand, pointed at the bedroom door with the hammer cocked. I didn't get back to sleep that day.

Shotgun scabbard mounted behind the headboard.

 

I hang mine inside the closet on the short wall on door knob side of the door. out of sight and ready to go.

 

Petunia lives behind the door. You have to enter the room and close the door. My hand gun lives in the nightstand drawer, but it is my secondary. I am much more comfortable with my shotgun than my handgun.

I have installed a product called "ShotLock" and I have found that it is one of the most secure, yet quickest way to access a shotgun for HD.

I like the idea, but it seems really pricey.

 

we have a wooden headboard. behind the headboard we have a wooden box on each end of the head board. one gun can be inserted long wise into each box. They are stained to match the headboard. the bed only sits an extra 5 or 6 inches from the wall and it is not rally noticable as long as we keep the bed made up. it also helps me remember to make up the bed every day.

 

Above bifold doors on a modified truck rifle rack. Inside closet is far enough away to be awake when deploying. I have a teenager son who comes home late, don't need any accidents.
Also 3D cell maglite to light up area, if handgun is also required. Cell phone on nightstand and Kevlar vest hanging open, prepped to throw on. Spare pistol mag, streamlight flashlite in front pouch, pepper spray can opposite pouch.
Note: Sleepwear is always worn, loose pair of slip on sneakers on the side of my bed. Never go around in bare feet. Neighbor had a BB shatter a window and stepped on glass without shoes. Good luck.

I had plans to cut the bend and modify... but the mount folds over and i cant tell its there when Im sleeping anyways. So it functions well as is. When my bed is made the comforter covers it, and if its not made just droop them over the side.

I guess an even cheaper route I planned on going before i spotted this was just two of those "garage hooks" screwed into a plywood board. You could get away for less than 5 bucks.

We have a chest-of-draws with a mirror on top making it maybe 7' tall and a flat shelf on top that makes a great resting place for an 12 gage 870 w/polychoke totaling a 25" barrel plus a 8 round extended tube and a 20 round ammo pouch on the stock. Seems to work well.
