Has anyone got a solar or wind turbine system going?

Do you store it to batteries; what equipment do you use?

I think what is needed is
wind turbine, solar panels.
battery controller
batteries (AGM)
invertor.

Is there any good links to how it is all wired up etc. and is there anything to
be aware of?

I have generators, inverters, batteries, solar, hand cranked stuff,... but only on a very small scale. In a pinch, I can power the bare necessities.
For instance, generators.. 1300 to 1500 watts. The more power you produce, the more fuel it requires. I try to match the power to the minimum wattage required. Two smaller generators ... rather than one 5000 watt generator... I only run one normally. ... uses less fuel than one large one. If needed, I can run two small ones. I've never had to do that.

I would also agree with Sunelec.com (no connection to them). As far as human power generation, good luck! Go spend some time on a bicycle ergometer and get a sense of what pedaling at 300W feels like. Unless you are Lance Armstrong, you won't want to do it for very long. Lance could hold better than 400W for an hour at his best. Mortal man cannot do that!
