I probably own enough 12ga pumps... but most them are too nice for a trunk gun beater, wounded raccoon in the rain dispatcher.
And I never got around to getting a Mossberg 590A1 and I look around on line sometimes for that, and a serviceable PoPo.
I see 590A1's bid $1K+ buy it now $1,200.
Really? Who pays $1,200. for a Mossberg ? Somebody must or they wouldn't be on there.
LGS has a beater 870 PoPo on consignment for $700. now
I missed the last one at $400. 2 months ago. I thought it would be a nice trunk gun.... had a lot of dings and wouldn't too worried about it.
I thought $400. was steep... figured I'd wait a while and make an offer.
apparently it was in incredible bargain at $400. and its long gone.
I over paid @ $250. for one years ago as a gun show... so glad I did as its a lot nicer than most I have seen.
The only shotguns I see that are relatively cheap are H&R/NEF single shots and cheap imported pumps that I would rather not bother with.
I don't think shotguns will be first on the list for Biden's gun confiscation agenda. I don't think pump shotguns are difficult to manufacture and they seem to last nearly forever unless they get a ton of use.
When will prices of pump shotguns normalize ?

Look what’s been going on. Pump shotguns are easy to run, powerful, effective, versatile, and cheap (or at least they were lol). I can imagine a lot of new gun owners wanting a pump shotgun over a rifle or handgun for the reasons I mentioned. My first firearm was a ‘Mossberg500. Things are just messed up right now. I’m guessing it’s just people taking advantage of the situation. If peoe are willing to pay, why sell for less? I would wait another year before buying most things. I’m starting to see handguns come way down in price. Ammo starting to come down and be more available too. Gonna be a slow process though.

This is a lousy time to look for a trunk street sweeper. Two years ago I bought a mossie 88 and several boxes of Federal 00 buck. On sale. $238.00 100 rounds. Would have bought 10 boxes of rio 00 buck and 10 boxes of rio #4 but they were out of stock at targets sports usa....as of Tuesday, they graciously offered me 10 boxes at $325. I graciously refused. When I went on the notify list the total price was $50, at $0.20 a round, which I found about right, considering. Everything is grossly inflated....just wait a bit, and rathole some cash.

Sell one of your nice shotguns now for a huge profit to the grasshoppers. Buy a 590 this Fall when the bottom falls out and cash is king. For example, I sold my POS AK in late 2012 for 267% of what I paid for it, stuck it and the ammo sales money in an envelope and bought (4) M&P AR15s in the Trump Slump, traded those off, bought as ton of AR ammo, sold or traded that off this summer, ratholed that cash for the huge sell off later this year.

Too much free money floating around. Late Summer to early Fall. The grasshoppers will start selling at a loss to keep above water. Have your cash ready. Cash will be king. Saw this in late 08 and early 09. Lots of foreclosures, idiots upside down on loans, banks choking on properties and vehicles, CCs taking huge losses. I'm buying a retirement house for cash after prices drop.

Do you need ALL of those nice shotguns.....?

I had sold and/or given away all my shotguns. Im a moron, lol. Son needed one. Father in law had bear coming into his yard so I gave him one. A guy got decapitated by a friends house so I sold him my last 535 mossy for home defense.
I always figured easy to replace, right.
My rump.
Took a week of calling around before I found something I could live with....the 8 shot Mossy88 and they literally only had ONE in the store and no one else around here has anything that isnt either overprice cheap junk or over priced mid to high end guns that I wont pay for.
Got this 88 a few days ago for $300.
Horrible times for finding guns that dont either break...or break the bank.

Yeah a lot of FREE money out there.
I will NOT be buying anything at inflated prices unless its some unicorn that escaped me years ago.. and there a few things in that category but a pump gun isn't one of them.

I'm one of those terrible ammo flippers and the grasshoppers have bought me several Glocks since Summer... but they might have been $50. over priced.
590's are more than double what I remember from not that long ago.

"Do you need ALL of those nice shotguns.....?" wait.... you sound exactly like the wife-unit.

Last year my dad bought a Mossy 28ga semi auto that was made in Turkey. He did some research before he bought it and found out that it, Tristar, and I believe Beretta were all made in the same factory. While I can't speak to how well it holds up long term that is a nice looking shotgun and handles very well. Perfect for his intended use of carrying it while walking the dogs on his property during the fall during grouse season.

WOW...who'd a thunk?
I usually don't get this lucky, I typically buy the one model no one wants.

I bought one of these pre-pandemic for about $500. I had to have it because I loved the wood stock and retro look. Guess I wasn't the only one.

I own a few shotguns, I have an 870 police that's also a favorite of mine. Beaters too, single shot ones and others just for hunting. Mostly because they used to be cheap to get into lol.

I don't see how these prices can hold, but who knows.

Lots of new gun buyers who really don't know what they are really after. But in times of unrest and rioting, and possible shortages, the pump shotgun with a dependable name sounds like the thing to have, to defend the homestead.

It is possible that a lot of Democrats and others are also buying a Lot of shotguns and maybe other guns also. But shotguns especially since many likely remember that Biden told people to just buy a shotgun for defense in early 2013 the best link I found about that > Joe Biden: buy a shotgun, not an assault rifle, to protect your home

Biden may even approve of this shotgun or maybe not >>

I bought Three guns for Christmas presents and decided on the last trip to get a Kel-Tec for myselF. This was Dec 2019. Really sweet, though you have to vigorously stroke it to ensure feeding and take a dermal tool to ensure the slide doesn’t touch the slide release on the rearward stroke. Still need a better choice for sights and I want a different grip, but wow is it compact. We shoot skeet with it. Seriously. Not going to win any contests though.

Allways liked pumps and over and unders. Just bullet proof. I do have a SBE and SP10 for waterfowl ( or in the SP10s case cause I grew up wanting a 10 ga), use the O/U for other hunting, or the 870 that stays in the truck and another in the farm shop ( both expresses that were reparked.). Never been a big fan of pretty shotguns, they get beat up too much. I’ve got a SGT 870 I bought at the factory when I was working after college and had worked a whole weekend of overtime. In fact brought 3 guns home From that trip The 870, a Belgium Auto22, and a spare Glock. Got one in Ky, one in Nashville, and the Glock in Huntsville.

Someone I know over-paid a bunch for a Black Aces 12-gauge semi automatic 12-gauge, $850 for a gun that was under $500 a year back. I paid too much for a nice Rock Island Armory 12-gauge tactical pump 6 months ago at $419... but it is a nice gun. I saw a Mossy JM semi-auto for $999 at a local shop, if I get a fully stimmy check it may be a go.

HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN ONE OF THESE BEFORE? Sorry, I'm sure that I violated some rule but I have never seen this completely online before....

I love 870s. I gunned with one for 25 years throughout the States. Bought on a couch in Dayton at 14 with an of age dude in tow. Ended up gifting it to a buddy as a birthday gift after my divorce. Saw it two years later, fully restored, thought that he was showing off a new buy!

That thing was a true beast. Killed tons, never a problem, it was well used when I bought it. Kind of sucked on rabbits, but that was mostly my shooting style and preference. I preferred eye shots with a .22 or gunning them with an old eastern arms side by side 20g. Both from other couches.

1oz+ slugs are 2 dollars a round now too.....If you can find them.......Its the world turned upside down.
Walmart had 300 8 shot shells I got yesterday. If and when I need to Im going to bust them open and recast the shot into slugs. They want $40 around here for $10 worth of cheap slugs. No thanks. I'll do it my way first.

The bankruptcy of Remington, one of the big two manufactures of pump guns, is also a big contributor to the current market. Who knows when they'll return to the market, or what their prices or quality will be like.

Every time I saw a $200 +/- 870, I told myself I didn't need another one, 2 or 3 was enough.

Glad I didn't listen all the time, and ended up with 7. Maybe 8, I'd have to check the safes.

its getting that way here. We have...I dont know...maybe 8 or 10 walmarts around the city here...more or less.
Ive been to a number of them...some have a bit of 12 gauge and that 7.62(?) in stock. The one had a ton of 5 round slug boxes for $10 a pop.
But then other walmarts down the road look at me like Im covered in boils and **** if I mention anything about ammo, lol.
Not sure whats going on with the company at this point.
