I heard from a neighbor--who heard a report on one of this past Saturday's morning radio talk shows--that all domestic banks will be closed following the November 2010 elections while a dollar revaluation occurs.

Can anyone either substantiate this rumor or squelch it?

Welcome to the boards.

No one here can do either but my answer would be if you are properly prepared, it will not matter. I am not saying that to be some chest-beating survivalist (not with this sunburn), but to say that we all gather here to help one another prepare for such events, which increases our quality of life (not supresses it), by leveraging one another's strengths and diluting our weaknesses.

If you properly prepare, which is always ongoing, then bank closures do not matter (or matter "as much").

But to answer your question, there is no one here that will confirm that statement your neighbor made, which seems to be very much a rumor. Those rumors always seem to peg a date to them to sound official.

I dont beleive it. It would really get people worried. Right now all they are trying to do is damage control and to make people things are getting better. If they let something like that out it would damage there smoke and mirrors there doing right now.
