We've got some talented ladies on this board and I've enjoyed pics of their works sprinkled throughout various threads.

Here's a place to show off. Our very own brag board. :thumb:

You ARE the CROCHETQUEEN!!! No kidding, that's a wonderful tablecloth.

My mother used to make chair sets (and lots of other goodies). For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a crocheted matching set of chair arm covers and a headrest cover in whatever pattern you choose. About 15 years ago, I made a couple of headrest covers in filet crochet with a cabbage rose as the motif. Never crocheted anything after that but a shrug/cape. For some reason, crochet work makes my hand cramp, so I don't do it. However, I do love to knit by hand, or machine. No, it's not cheating..... it's FAST!:D:

dont mean to derail the thread here, but I DID read how to post pics and still cannot figure out how to put the photos IN the post and not as an attachment. can anybody help me out here with more hand-held instructions? (the pics are on my computer and not from a html website location.) once i figure it out, i'll edit this derailed post and update it with some artwork later on. thanks!

Here's a commissioned oil painting I did of someone's beloved dog and horse. It's about 24x36" on canvas. You'll have to click on the pic cuz I can;t figure out how to post it here.

WOW Peaches! You are a talented artist! I framed my medals/bibs today from my half marathons to finally get them ready to hang... and by frame, I mean, tear the plastic wrapping off, open the shadow box type frames, cut some black felt, arrange, and close... does that count for an artistic endeavor? I did think it was four large frames and four small...

I like to crochet but i'm not that good. I can make usable afghans. Just havnt made 1 in a looonnng time. I'm thinking of crocheting baby blankets and selling them at the flea markets but dont know if that would sell or not.

Between Crochetqueen and Peaches I feel kinda like an amatuer, lol. You girls really rock!

The nice thing about crochet is that every project is a Learning Loaf. It's ALL practice. I love that I can easily fix mistakes, and it greatly amuses me that one can easily spend a lifetime fooling around with those basic stitches. In fact, I've already determined I need to live at least as long as Methuselah to get around all the projects I want to do..When I said that Sunday, during the class dh is teaching on the book of Job, he laughed about 'imagine how much yarn she could accumulate in 969 years!'

Thank you! Most of the stuff I've been doing lately is digital, but I work in all kinds of media - graphite, colored pencil, pastel, and have just taken up oils again.

^^^ ditto! I love the 1/28 unicorn. Truly like something from a dream. I'm glad some of the others aren't in my dreams though. :D:
LOL. :) I'm glad you like my unicorns.

I crochet.. Nothing so fancy as Crochetqueen's beautiful afghan and filet work, but it keeps me entertained and calm enough I haven't lobbed off anybody's head...yet. The links I have are for a few projects I've posted on Ravelry. Hope they work.

If they don't work, I'll have enlist some kid or dh aid to figure it out..I think I have a few photos on Facebook, so I can look there later.

Here's some old and new crochet. The lace is 20+ years old. It was my therapy for getting through undergrad organic chemistry with my sanity intact!

The bracelet is one of several I designed this past winter.

Close up of the lace. It's made with very small thread (#20).

Here's the pattern I started Sunday. I'm using a much lighter multicolored cotton yarn though. It's more natural, with light bits of green, rust, blues, and pinks. I have several market tote pattern in the queue, and at least one will be with double stranded, good old fashioned hard-to-murder acrylic. I also have several cones of light weight, itchy scratchy wool that might make a good tote. Don't ask me why I think I need so many..we'll see after I get this one made!

Um....My Bible calls hospitality a Gift. I'm good at visiting with people, but don't expect a BH&G bash from me..ain't happenin'. One of my daughters is the queen of party games...must be a bit of my mom's DNA that skipped me.

Technically, I suppose hospitality is both a gift and a command...we're supposed to make the effort, but some people are better at it than others!

I can sew but my family doesn't seem to appreciate it. I used to sew for our son when he was little but now he's 11 he doesn't want to wear anything without a name brand on it. Hubby and our son will wear my DIY Halloween costumes though. They actually like the costumes I make because they're always one of the kind, never have to worry about running into twins while out trick or treating! :D:

Your costumes are wonderful! Several of my kids are really into costuming. They went to all the Harry Potter movie openings in handmade/designed costumes. They also dressed up for the first Sherlock Holmes premier; Steampunk is soooo much fun! In fact, one daughter is going to college on a theater scholarship, which she got because she wants to design costumes. Most students want to act, she wants to do the clothes.

Ok Crafty Ladies: You need to ask (if you don't already have one) for a Mother's Day present of the paraffin home hot wax baths. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and heels and it has been a lifesaver!

I use mine mainly in the winter or else when I am doing a lot of computer work - will just leave it plugged in on the counter and do a "quick dip" when I walk through the kitchen. Takes about five minutes (although you can leave it on longer) and you will feel immediate relief.

For crafting cramps or gardening or arthritis or whatever causes your aches and pains, I seriously recommend getting one. And, they start at like $20. I have the Revlon one which I got 8 yrs ago and it is still going strong. I made sure I had one that was large enough to also dip my foot in (for that strange bottom of the heel pain) and it was the perfect size.

Dip three times, let it sit and soak the heat into your hands, and then peel off. That simple :)

I never heard of a hot wax bath. Which Revlon model did you get?

I have fibromyalgia so I'm always hurting. My whole body hurts today. It would be nice to relieve some of the pain.

I bought Two Old Goats lotion for Arthritis & Fibromyalgia, but it's expensive and doesn't smell so good. $10 for 4 fl oz..
