Fillzee,
I agree with much of what you said. I still think it is a philosophy of a failed system that has been tried all over the world but keeps popping up like a plug nickel. It seems people and societies at large want to keep trying a failed system over and over, and each time it fails someone else wants to try it somewhere else. In a perfect world, filled with perfect people, it might come close to working, but for one small detail; Socialism always leads to communism and that leads to despotism, the loss of freedom and unthinkable violence. In the end the people are first affected by these terrible losses, but in the end the countries suffer a bigger brunt from having to rebuild itself. Of course it always comes back to its people.

Lest anyone forgets, Nazism was Socialism. It was called the National Socialist Party. It's ironic in that what the Germans hated more than the Jews, was the Communist. Always with Socialism there are the workers and the party elites. The elites have more than anyone else. Privilege, money, status, nicer homes and cars, influence and so much more it's hard to put it all down. The elites always are a small minority when you compare them to the rest of the general population. When you look closely at Communism, it parallels the Socialist hierarchy in that, you have the elites and the Party leadership who are in control of everything. The difference of course is the escalation of the crimes against the ordinary people. Murder becomes a commodity after awhile. Prison incarceration exceed ordinary levels and crimes against the state become the priority because it is easier to kill off or lock away your enemies than to let them live. Dead people don't usually cause any problems to the living.

In the end it is always the people and those they chose to lead them down whatever path seems to be popular at the time. Good comments are coming from this group.

Excellent post and thread. I've often thought the same about the minds out there "mismanaged with great care" about the nature of freedom and our modern history.

Communism seems to have pulled an Obi Wan Kenobi. It is more powerful after death in the political sense. Now, with ex-KGB officer running the former Soviet Union and no current real memory of the horrors of that totalitarian regime and its clients and allies, there is no longer any inoculation in the young gene pool against that disease. Books that would warn us are underpromoted and not even reviewed with such prominence as they deserve.

Loupgarou,

You are absolutely correct. Out of sight out of mind. That's why those in charge have been changing the history books and have discarded the true history which depicted what actually happened, where and why and most important, to whom.

The trouble with old guys like me is, we remember. Some of us pick a platform and we tell anyone who wants to listen. That is what old people do. The world has forgotten the Pol Pots, Joseph Stalin, Edi Amin, Beria and so many more it is hard to write them all down but they lived and they killed millions of their own countrymen. The only reason we are poignantly aware of the holocaust is the Jews won't let us forget. That's good. We should never forget what a small segment of a population did to so many.

Governments have killed in the neighborhood of 300 million people in the last 100 years. Some of them were legally elected by the people who believed what the snake oil salesmen were selling at the time. Those same legally elected governments murdered millions of its own citizens. I wonder sometimes how anyone could be so stupid as to not see what is happening currently and why they would allow it to happen. Remember, we can stop them if we make an effort. Confucius said, "The journey of 10,000 miles begins with the first step."

If not for my son listening to me and watching historical programs he would know almost nothing about the evils of communism.
Same here. I have dozens of videos touching on history and firearms. My kids got at least a shove in the direction of the truth about history from watching them with me, along with my own commentary as to further details which were not provided elsewhere.

I hope they will be as stubborn about learning the truth and defending it as their old man was.

I'm disappointed! Come on Liberals! Get in here and defend your ideology! You have nothing to lose but your chains!

The root of the problem is the rebranding of communism in America.

It's no longer "communism" it's 'fairness'.

The rich are too rich? That's not "fair".......we need to redistribute the wealth.
And just food for thought: Do you really think there is true private property anymore? Better think again. Essentially the government owns EVERYTHING. It's called 'property tax'. You can never ever own ANYTHING outright free and clear. You must continually earn some sort of income in order to pay the tax on simply being able to live anywhere in the US. You pay off your house? Think it's yours? Nope.......you have to pay property tax on it every year unto infinity.

Can't pay? The gov't takes your home. Why? Because **** you, we're the government and we can do what we want. You don't have the guns to kill us all. We WILL take your land and your property, whether or not you are alive.

Communism isn't communism anymore. They're successfully indoctrinating the youth to believe that being 'fair' is paramount to any other form of social virtue. Federal Income tax, Social Security, EEOC, etc. etc. It is being used as a tool to enslave and keep people hooked to the federal milking machines until the day you die. The only people that do not pay are the homeless. So much for the pursuit of happiness.

I remember all the driving I used to do for work. In the early part of the year I noticed all the dead marmots lying along the roads. Mostly the young ones who hadn't learned their lesson about the danger and indifference of automobiles.

After a while those who survived got it and you didn't see too much road kill. However as the summer grew a different phenomenon occurred. You stated to see the truly big guys getting killed on a regular basis. And for the most part only the big guys.

IMHO it seemed they had learned they were now too big for the average hawk and could bully their brothers around so they got cocky. As a result they did not worry about cars so much and got hammered.

That’s my take on it anyway and this theory works as good as any. When we stop being vigilant the enemies we once feared and prepared for can sneak up so to speak and the next thing you know we’re somebody’s lunch or a road pelt (see world politics).

Not everybody though is so foolish. Some remember and observe. It’s just they get to see their brothers clobbered because of stupidity. It’s sad for sure but better than being one of them.

Thank You Caseyboy for your excellent comments and important subject.

"Are Americans Aware of the Damage Caused by Communism?"

Yep they are told this by Fox News every day, trouble is, too many people dont care.
Fox News is just as much propaganda as MSNBC is. Fox keeps the Republicans from seeing the Fascist side of the party while clearly showing the Collectivist (Communist, Marxist, Socialist, Statist, Fascist (pick your poison) side of the Democrat party. Then, the liberal media does the same by exposing the Fascist side of the Republican party but trying to make the Democrats appear 'concerned and caring' without showing that the Democrats are every bit as much 'war mongering' and in bed with the big bad banks as the Republicans are.

We're being played and both parties are different sides of the same coin. Regardless of who is in power the result of war mongering, bigger govt, more debt, dependence and oppression remains the same. The goal is the systematic dismemberment of our Constitution and the theft of our wealth, property, resources, sovereignty and maybe even our lives. Redistribution locally, nationally and globally.

That was my country, also.
A good read for all is Skousen's The Naked Communist which details how they accomplished their goals in the US for the last 60 years.

Reardon Steel
Most of the 45 goals for the Communist takeover of America have already been met. We were warned about this by numerous people including Cleon Skousen, Ayn Rand, Yuri Bezmenov and many, many others. But we didn't believe them because we were asleep in our propaganda and commercialism.

Cleone Skousens' 45 goals to a Communist Takeover of America

I'm disappointed! Come on Liberals! Get in here and defend your ideology!
They don't have an argument. Just look at Detroit, Chicago, LA and Oakland Ca. These 'progressive' war zones have been run by the liberals for decades.

THIS IS the result of the 'Collectivist' model which America surely is today and hell bent on becoming a Totalitarian regime soon. :( Never give up your guns!

Robot,

We never made it to the Chinese border, but MacArthur wanted to go all the way into China and Russia. He also wanted to use nukes against them and President Truman fired him for that. MacArthur said,
"We're going to have to fight them someday anyway, we may as well do it now." Or, words to that effect.
Ahead of his time that's for damn sure.

Commies are a greater threat than even fascism was / is. Too bad no-one gives a toss.

My school was full of them and they tended to be teachers!
In the old days they'd not bother forcing their views on others as much. But along came the 60s...

REPR,

It doesn't matter what name we use to describe a Communist. It all comes down to the philosophy they adhere to and what the goals are in the end for all of us.

For years people have been saying we have too many mouths to feed. No more babies was their battle cry. We are using up all of the natural resources and those who are using them don't deserve them, (us). Words to that effect and much worse were used. Elitist can be any political persuasion. What happens to many of them is this; they make a bunch of money, they're set for life suddenly and then they decide to run their mouths to the rest of us. Thinking all the time that since they're rich nobody else counts anymore except them and the crowd they associate with. They say gun control is a bad concept because we don't need guns, but they have them. They can afford to hire people who have backgrounds in protection and carry guns to protect them. They say, we should all stop consuming all those things we consume because it isn't an environmentally good things to do and yet they will get on a private jet, burn tons of fuel to get to an exotic and expensive place for a weekend, eat imported food which used more fuel to get it to their tables, and they criticize us and castigate us for varied reasons, which is all bullsh*t to begin with.

In the end, it is a system of beliefs that divides us, the regular people, and sets them apart because they think they are better than the rest of us and they deserve the things they don't want us to have. It is a class distinction to make sure the haves continue to have and the rest of us might be able to scrape by if we're lucky. The middle class cut a swath through the elitist years ago when the common people began to make enough money as to be in competition with the rich. It is an age old class war that never stops. Communism is just another way of dividing up the pie.
Karl Marx was a little worm who couldn't do anything right. He could never get to the level in society he wanted to be at. So, his way was to take from those who have and distribute it to those like him who didn't have. That isn't what America was founded on. It was founded on the principals of-go to school, keep your nose clean, get a job, work your as* off, and build a career, and if you're lucky, maybe in twenty or thirty years you will have something. The Communist don't want to work for anything thy want someone else to give it to them.

I get what you're saying. I understand that it's all just a means for some to grab power from the masses.

I was referring to the way that communism is being presented in a manner that people are unaware of what they are actually doing. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. And they sure do sound well-meaning.

I think we're just talking about two sides of the same coin. For one side to take, the other side has to give. Traditionally, its been through the use of a gun (Mao, Stalin, Ho Chi Mihn). This time around, they are actually using our own complacency and stupidity against us. "We" are the ones giving up our rights and transferring the authority to them. Voluntarily. This time its not "communism"..........its just being "fair". But yes, A rose by any other name........

With all due respect to the heartfelt feelings of the OP, America has been a socialist / communist society since the 1930s.
If I told you what you will find in the law, you wouldn't believe me. Shucks, if I went back in time to 1990, and told myself, I wouldn't believe me, either. But if you do go to the courthouse law library, remember to wear knee pads and "Depends" (adult diapers) ... you may fall to your knees, weeping, or pee yourself.

To illustrate:
Perry v. United States 294 U.S. 330 (1935)
https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/294/330/

The court gets on its high horse and castigates Congress for House Joint Resolution 192, wherein it ceased redeeming** its notes and bonds with lawful money. However, when the opinion turned to damages, though, the Supremes did an about-face and held that the bondholders were entitled to nothing. The key to Hughes’s argument was that Congress had withdrawn all gold coin from circulation... so there was "nothing" to redeem those bonds with except worthless FRNs (no par value). In other words, the bond holders weren't really damaged by being screwed out of their right to lawful money... yeah, right.

Thus we learn of the skill and audacity of the Federal Judiciary, when it comes to avoiding the obligations of the compact known as the U.S. Constitution, due to the State of Emergency (1933) and the bankruptcy of the United States government.

In layman’s terms, though the USCON says Congress has power to “coin money” (stamp bullion) the Supreme Court magically perceives a power to “regulate the value of money” or whatever is used as money (worthless paper), and ignores the confiscation of lawful money from the American people, and smugly presumes to pontificate that claimants have no “right to lawful money” because there is none in circulation - having been stolen by the government. (Private ownership of gold was also criminalized until 1975)

And furthermore, it no longer matters that without gold nor silver coin, one cannot pay debts by law. We’re all jolly good passengers on the socialist pirate “Ship of State,” sailing to and fro, enjoying the “privileges” of our membership in their “club.”

(Sigh - And you thought that ruling "AbominationCare" as a "tax" was legal twistery... !)

Of course, it is 100% legal - by your consent. (via FICA, no less)

**
"Federal Reserve notes are not redeemable in gold, silver or any other commodity, and receive no backing by anything. This has been the case since 1933. The notes have no value for themselves..."

In Plain Inglitch: the government's IOUs, as defined in Title 12 USC Sec. 411, are no longer redeemable in lawful money, as required by law. (OOPS!) They are worthless (no value). Using them is a revenue taxable privilege, and nothing you buy with them truly belongs to you, for you have not "paid debt" as specified in the USCON.

And the Supreme court said, "Shamey, shamey. But too bad for youse suckers out dere... You're [expletive deleted] !"

jetgraphics,

I've read a number of your postings and I cannot fault a single one. I believe your research is genuine and thorough. Government is the true enemy of the common citizen. It has always been that way. The court system and the legal system is just another avenue or tentacle, of government regardless of whatever one chooses to believe, and that we are forced to abide by as we travel down a road that is well regulated with rules set up by those who work within the system. If I knew of a better way, I would subscribe to it. I think one of the better forms of government was the Iroquois' Nation system where they all agreed to talk and not fight, negotiate instead of try to outdo their opponent. It was a successful system and lasted many years. It is said in some circles that Thomas Jefferson used a portion of it to draw up the US Constitution .

Any system man uses always depends on who plays by the rules laid down by other men. It was that way with the early Greeks and the Romans. Sometimes it was unfair and sometimes it was lopsided. It just depends on which side of the argument you are on. Up until the Magna Carter, the people in England had few options for the common man. The wealthy and royalty made the rules and owned everything including the weapons and land. The common man was totally subservient to the elites of the time.

Courts and laws are usually moderated by the ruling elite and if anyone believes differently they are living under an illusion. The common man can only hope to receive justice if there isn't a popular opinion against them at the time. Even in the US a person can be tried in the news, popular opinion as well as the courts.

I for one appreciate your input.

It may be a futile hope, but I believe that reading law is one of the best ways to counteract the collectivist revolution of the 20th century.

We're all victims of the world's greatest propaganda ministry, that has devoted enormous resources to make us ignorant and apathetic. (It's no surprise that entertainers are some of the highest paid "laborers" in the nation. They are vital to the propaganda ministry's success.)

"They" cannot succeed if enough Americans "know law." They are out numbered - but - they have persuaded enough ignorant Americans to defend their own enslavement.

Look at the mob reaction to the lies promulgated in the Zimmerman case... with a few months of propaganda.

Now, consider that for over 80 years, "They" have been pumping us full of heifer dung, half truths and lies. The people are utterly confounded with contradictory information. You couldn't find an intelligible consensus of opinion to save your life - or the nation's life.

There are people who want to "restore the constitution".
There are people who want a "gold standard."
There are people who want a responsive democracy.

None of which would remedy the situation. And that's why "they" are smug and confident of their victory. The sheeple are scattered in all the wrong directions, chasing goals that have no impact on the real problem.

What is the “Real” Problem?

Ignorance of American law.

What is the remedy?

Read law.

To illustrate, the Declaration of Independence spells out two jobs for government:
Job #1 : secure rights, and
Job #2 : govern those who consent.
How does a government “secure rights”?

Under American law, it prosecutes deliberate injury - after the fact. It adjudicates accidental injury - after the fact. No government promises to prevent injury, nor secure everyone’s right to life and liberty.

How much law is necessary to prosecute deliberate injury after the fact?
Very little.
What difference would partisan politics play in such law?
Very little.
You can’t really find a “Democrat” ideologue differing from a “Republican” ideologue on the issue of punishing murder, mayhem, assault, battery, theft, burglary, and so forth. And once the law is on the books, what more is needed from a legislature instituted to “secure rights”?
Very little.

So what is the source for all the partisan infighting?

Consent of the governed.

Via consent, the servant government is granted the authority to meddle, regulate, restrict, and rule that which it was not delegated power to rule. Via consent, the government can take from one to give to another. Via consent, the government can define what is and what is not acceptable behavior, despite there being no injured party. Via consent, the government becomes master over the people who were once its master. And the people become servants of that which was once their servant.

Until consent is withdrawn, no remedy is possible.
After consent is withdrawn, no remedy is necessary.
But knowledge of law is indispensable, for our ignorance is how they tricked us into giving consent in the first place.

Thank you Caseyboy! What a great post! I nominated it for post of the year, atleast so far.

There is so much that I can say about why this country is dying. So much. But the fact is it wouldn't matter. Unless we can unite all of us likeminded individuals then nothing is going to happen. We must unite and make our will be known. It's not simple, but it is simple as that.

Great post.
