I have both the M7 and M8 bayonets and I struggle everytime I go into the field with whether to bring the M7 or M9.
I tend to choose the M9 because the blade is heavier and useful for chopping and the sawback works well for small limbs. I also very much enjoy the wire cutting features on the blade and scabbard. It came in really handy one day when I wasd alone and got my boot caught in some hog wire stepping over a fence. Without it, I would have broken my ankle.
My issue with the M9 though is that I cannot get the blade to take an edge worth a damn whereas the M7 has a nice dual edge.
Whats your experience been with them?
