Ok today I received my new custom engraved dust cover. Installation went smoothly until I tried to put the snap ring back on the pin. I was using the smallest needle nose pliers I could find. After dropping the damn thing twice on the third attempt I guess I didn't have it in the groove just right and the snap ring snapped in half. I got on the horn and ordered 3 more just in case I have the same problem the next time around. I was wondering if anyone had any tips, hints, suggestions that might make this go a bit smoother when my new snap ring arrive. Thanks again everyone in advance...

That's the way I've always done it. Only recommendation is you might put a little oil on pint to help out. One thing, once on, I always rotate the clip so the open end faces away from the receiver. This helps to keep it from popping off.

Good luck!

One additional thing I forgot to mention; keep the pin groove right up against the ledge around the hole in the receiver to support the c clip and press down only on the top with the needle nose tips (closed)
C-clips came in today and using your technique with a little oil and the help of a toothpick I got that little booger on there in about 30 seconds.

Thanks again to everyone for your help!,
