Hey everyone, so it seems that the "general discussion" section is usually still pretty heavy in terms of subject matter, maybe we can lighten it up a bit. :)

Anyone else here into cars, trucks, hot rods, classics, drag racing, etc.??

Personally I am in the middle of Street/Strip truck that my dad and I are building together. We are doing a complete frame off build on an 1st gen S10, which will be getting an LS motor. We just got done painting the rear frame, and are working on the rear suspension right now. Long road ahead on this truck, but it's going to be sweet when we are done!

So what about you guys, any fast toys in the garage??

I have in the past, illegally racing a 1986 Skyline GT-EX, 92 Skyline GT-R and 1978 Camaro RS with a Lunati 406 stroker motor in Japan Tokyo-Yokohama area from 1984-1996. Moved back to the states and came to the conculsion I needed to grow up, you know, mature a little. Havent had the time or the money since then. I still don't really today but here next summer I am going to start working on my 1989 Chevy Silvarado.

It wont be a power broker project or a racing project. The engine will be getting a little bit of a power boost. The suspension will be getting tightened up a bit. The interior is going to get a plush make over. Its high time to give an old war horse a make over and to have a little fun in and cruise around in style. I suspect my days of racing and low 9 second 1/4 mile passes are over...just don't have the time or the money for that any more.

I've been into cars since I could stand on the front seat of my grandfathers car, he would point out cars, I would have to tell him what they were. I've always liked corvettes, (owned 3, a 77, 96 and a full custom 98 that was featured in a national magazine and won over 100 awards) Also owned 2 (68 and 71) mustangs, 2 (72 and 75)camaros, 69 Datsun 510 I had built into a race/street car, bunch of Pontiacs, a 71 Chevelle SS, currently own a 09 CLK 550 with a built engine that puts down 377 at the rear wheels.

I like 4.00" bore small blocks. 4 bolt mains, ported heads, breath-easy in and out additions, some compression tricks and you'll hang in with big blocks. Just lighten the ride.

I ran a 1/6th mile against a 390 Camaro (well built) in a 289 Mustang and nudged him by a fender. That felt pretty good. Gave up 100 CI and prevailed. Both were 4 speeds: His a Muncie; mine a Toploader. Dang that's fun!

Fastest legal street ride I ever saw was a 65 'Vette. Blown (never opened the hood so anyone's guess as to the motor), fully tricked with street slicks and stuff you can't imagine. The dude would wait for any unsuspecting person to challenge on Saturday night. His ride was brutal fast. Saw it run 10.16 on an NHRA 1/4 track so I knew to stay clear. (He put on track slicks for the run.)

I am only into speed if I am driving:D:

I just sold my old 87'vette, didn't have the money to get it restored so I sold it to an older gentleman that had always wanted one.

My two dreams cars are the 57' t-bird, with the original 312 and hard top.
65' chevy Impala SS with the mickey thompson 327. I had one but my brothers decided since I was just a girl I didn't need it. They took the engine out and sold it. The body they gave to one of their friends. I forgave them before they both passed.
I have a 440 dodge, a 318 dodge, 1 75 chevy pickup with a in-line six that I want to put a 350 in. Don't have to worry about smog in the year.
I want a sleeper :D: Not so much to race but to show the young punks this old broad can handle it :D:

I had a 2002 Chevy Camaro z28 T-Tops. I love that car, the right amount of power for the price. I had to sell it to get a year round car during grad school :( I put on a few mods on it as well: headers to slp exhaust, short shift, 3.96 gear ratio, slp hi-flo ram air intake and a PCM tuned to mods. It was loud and flashy and in a college town when I met people at parties a lot of them recognized my car and boosted my ego lol. I might login to my old laptop and post some pics up.
