Actually there are folks who collect and restore them.

Tactically, they are dated, and therefore outside my locus of interest. But they are tough and could conceivably be useful.

Once upon a time during the photography days - I had few old time collectable cameras - a side hobby -- when I lost interest they were just dust collectors - I sold them ---- I started this thread thinking you radio types might find them interesting ?

As you know, some things are more "collectable" than others. That RT66 setup has a several "fatal flaws" even if it did include the accessories.
1) uses rare and expensive tubes
2) only covers 10-15 meters
3) Very large for what it does.
4) missing all of the accessories

Other than that, if I had a WWII Willys Jeep, I would want one but the completeness and condition is still very important.

That would be of more interest to a military vehicle collector or a reenactor than a radio guy.
