I just picked up a pocket rocket and a few cans of fuel at Bass Pro Shops last weekend.
I cant believe how well such a tiny little thing puts off so much heat! It's crazy. I'm new to all this survival/camping/outdoors gear stuff though (aside from firearms). So I may be too easily impressed. I aso picked up a coleman individual cookset to go along with it. Seems like a nice little system. Went outside and boiled some water and made a package of moutain house food with it. Worked great.
Fun stuff. Maybe a fuel based fire system isn't totally the way to go in a survival situation though? Is it better to just have fire making ability, or to have a small stove system and the ability to make other fires? Would you guys consider the stove system to be more of a luxury?
