Anti-foaming agent found in Chicken McNuggets

(NaturalNews) Ever wonder what's really found in Chicken McNuggets? Some of the ingredients, it turns out, seem to belong more to an industrial factory of some kind, not a food retailer. According to the McDonald's Corporation, its famous Chicken McNuggets are made with ingredients including autolyzed yeast extract (which contain free glutamate, similar to MSG), sodium phosphates and sodium aluminum phosphate. But that's not the freaky part. According to McDonald's own website, Chicken McNuggets are also made with "hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness" and "Dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent."

Its a food additive used in many other foods apparently.

An antifoaming agent for use in processing foods in "amounts reasonably required to inhibit foaming." Used as a chewing gum base, in molasses, soft drinks, sugar distillation, skimmed milk, wine fermentation, syrups, soups, rendered fats, and curing solutions. Not to exceed 10 ppm in non-alcoholic beverages. No known toxicity.

there was a picture of how they process chicken nugget mash hit the internet some time ago, its pink in color, looks like ice cream. Its mechanically seperated, blended, and bleached then chicken flavor added at the end.

I still eat nuggets but I do look at them differently.

Don't be silly.

One needs to dissolve the chicken meat (those in the industry just call it 'protien') in imulsifiers, mix it with surfactants, and form it back together with binding agents (all, incidentally, made from corn) to make a nugget.

You thought it was just chicken?

Every time I butcher a chicken, I get frustrated looking for the nuggets.

Maybe I should just skip the butchering and throw whole chickens into the wood chipper...
