This is gonna hit hard. It's a very close knit community with folks going back generations.

It's things like this that are why my kids are homeschooled. I can't imagine the agony of those parents.

^^^ This. There's a social rot in this country. The breakdown of the two-parent home, turning away from God, and every event turned into something that just tears the country apart even more. I don't know what we do to fix this. Our politicians in Washington are clueless. They will rage on for days now about gun control, when the problem is something else entirely.

Just makes me want to puke. I feel for the kids, the parents, the school employees and the families. How in the world do you ever get over something like this? I doubt you ever do.

Cowards prey on kids. Sissified bastards need to go try and shoot up a place where there are a bunch of grown men with guns and see what happens to them.

Oh good lord - most Mexicans in Texas are Citizens. 40% of the population of Texas is Hispanic. 6% of the TOTAL population of Texas is undocumented, and a fair chunk of that 6% is not Hispanic. It's overwhelming odds that he was a Citizen.

I've been here 30+ years. I've known my fair share of undocumented folks, Hispanic and otherwise. Honestly never had an issue with most of them. The ONLY undocumented ones I ever worried about was the Turks.

Let's wait to reserve judgement until we know the details, folks.

It's sickening that this keeps happening. Innocent people killed as a tool.

As others have mentioned the coincidences are high. The news cycle has been rough on the left for the last several weeks. Inflation, gas prices, baby formula shortages, 40B to Ukraine, Durham case. This will give the left something to push the anti-2A crowd and get an easy win. This will be the news now. Nobody likes to see innocents killed, especially children.

I just told the wife this morning, the way the Durham case is going they will need a big distraction.

21 posts and throwing rocks at long term members? Not a way to make friends.

No, it isn't unbelievable. It's very believable. Look at what we did over the past two and a half years to kids. We took away their lives, their support structure, their friends, their ability to learn and grow. And we replaced it with zoom classes, pointless masks, and an insane fear over disease, global warming, war, and the future. The kids are not alright. We literally destroyed the best years of their lives, telling them that if grandma got sick and died it was because they were selfish for wanting to see their friends. We also took away the greatest monitoring system we had in place - teachers. Teachers who could interact with the students, face to face, and see changes in the students.

Combine that with us tearing down all of our pasts, saying there is nothing to be proud of from our ancestors, and oh yeah, either you were born to a race that is inherently evil and has to apologize for the sins from generations past, or you're born into a race that is hopelessly oppressed and will always be oppressed.

That's all a recipe for disaster.

I would rather have him alive to see just what it was he has done. And to suffer a long time in the prison system and then be executed. But alive long enough for all the families to have time to...express themselves to him. And then to watch him face his executioner. And then to feel the terror of knowing that someone was going to take his life. Not total justice but better than a quick death from a bullet.

Tragic. And so easy to fix.

When's the last time there was a shooting in a Courthouse? Never.....

Why? Because when you walk in there are deputies standing there with guns, and you have to walk thru a metal detector.

Make every school a one-way-in, one-way-out facility. Metal detector and 2 officers at every school in the US. Yes it would cost a few bucks but what is a kids life worth?

No more shootings. But our fearless leaders (of both parties) have no cajones to do something that makes sense like this.

Few years back (about 15) we had a shooting in Smith Co at the Courthouse. A conceal carry man was killed trying to help, and an officer I know was very badly wounded. Only one way in now and yes they have metal detectors now.
