I am traveling to the Knoxville area for a few days in early February. From there up to the Claiborne County area. Can anyone give a status on ammo availability for common calibers (9mm and 22lr)? And maybe a good location to between Knoxville and Claiborne to stop and look for some?

I know availability varies by location. Ie - I know where I am at in Houston, TX has a very different availability than some parts of the mid-west.

Any help is much appreciated.

As of right now I believe most all stores around here have a 2 box per person per day limit on 22lr. Actually last week when I bought some they were selling them in bags of 50 rounds and only 2 per person because theres such a shortage on them. I believe you can get as much 9mm as you want though. hope this helps

If you pass through southern Tennessee you will find a .22 ammo drought that has been in effect for over two years.
