Was wondering if anyone had any good info on this trail? Books, maps, anecdotes? Anyone here hiked parts or the entire thing?

Maps are available for purchase on their website, but they're rather pricey :-(

Searched the forum for info, but didn't find anything...

There is a guy on youtube that is hiking this trail from one end to the other, including the loop in the middle. Mike "Lion King" Daniels. I've watched a ton of his vids.

The first through hikers of the adt were in their fifties. Think it was Jon and Carol? But not sure, they had slot of stuff up on their web site after they finished.

must not be a hard trail then.
I fail to see how hiking across the entire continental US COULDN'T be hard!

On another note, are there any AT (or any other long trail) thru-hikers here? I'm curious about the financial preparations made before leaving.

I own my own business & could foresee taking a year's leave of absence at some point in the future to hike the ADT... I have no financial responsibilities other than my own welfare... so I'm curious how any thru-hikers managed their finances while out on the trail... are there any ways to calculate the amount of money needed to successfully complete a long hike?
