still havent goten a quite clear answer what im trying to find is comparing true apples to apples. it was once mentioned that the hole AR vs. Ak debate is not valid because its not comparing apples to apples more like apple to oranges. so i wana compare Apples to apples. if you were to take an ak platform and an ar platform same caliber would they be compareable. every one states they prefer the ar platform because the .223 or 5.56 ammo can be accurate out to said meters. well if ak platform was to shoot same performance wise if the caliber was the same as the ar platform such as the .223 or 5.56. of coarse the first thing every one will know is my firearm background but im not talking about "MY" accuracy with these rifles i want the statisticts. i could quote many that some state the ar in .223 is "accurate" out to 800 meter range. and then they say the ak in 7.62 is "accurate" out to 400-500 meters. so lets make it apples to apples chose your caliber and compare which ever it may be .223, .308 or any other that both platforms are produced in.

I don't like having to crap on someone's thread.....

...but it's not like you need to search a thread on this topic. There are currently at least 4 active threads on this topic in the top 20 threads in this section right now......

....this is just torture.
Also in every gun forum on the net for the last 15 years.

I personally believe that apples are more reliable, while oranges are better at long range.
Apples are clearly the superior fruit.

They have a heavier grain for better knock-down power and are just more accurate at long distances.....

APPLES FTW.

Although, oranges can be just as accurate at long-range you just have to compensate for the massive fruit drop.

Now that I'm thinking about it....

...apples are not as aerodynamic as oranges...hense more "fruit wobble" in the air....so oranges my be more accurate....

But if the delivery system for the apple is sent through the air like a football with some spin......it may work for it's oblong shape....

....plus the apple has more of a chance of tumble/yaw upon impact as it's heavier at one end than the other...causing more damage.....hmmmm

My red ryder bb gun is bigger than yours.

Big block chevelle versus small block corvette. One does better in acceleration, the other does better is cornering. The guy who knows how drive beats the other car.

Concern yourself over the skill more than the tool, or become the tool yourself.........

Oranges are better for fighting scurvy... Hence, better at keeping your health... However, apples make better pies... Six, or a half dozen of the other... I do like the cross sectional density of the orange vs. that of the apple...

OA, out...
