Army drill sergents have a patch on their right chest that reads:

"This we'll defend."

Defend what? Or who? When is it time to stop and ask ourselves if the domestic enemy is not already here?

Is our enemy the corrupt politicians who serve themselves while mismanaging our tax dollars thorugh pork barrel earkmark spending?

Is the enemy the corporate power mongers who through greed and not skill, have managed sink our economy and lose your savings?

Is the enemy the special interest groups that buy or influence our elected officials for the earmark spending on things like wooden arrow?

Is this domestic enemy a bigger threat than those elusive "terrorists?"

Even if the enemy within is identified, who has the power or responsibility to take action on them without seeming like a revolutionary or a terrorist?

I am not a separatist nor a revolutionary or a terrorist. I am a patriot.

I took an oath once. An oath where I swore to defend the Constitition of the United State of America against all enemies. Forigen or Domestic.

My responsibility begins in November when I will cast my vote.

What is your responsibility? To whom? The Constitution? Or those that try to manipulate it for their own motives?

I'd make the case that our true donestic enemy is a passive populus. It's been so long since the American people fought for anything within their own borders that they've completely lost sight of what it was to be "American". I think the time is near that Americans will be forced to remember why our ancestors fought off the rule of the British Crown.

Wouldn't it be great to see a true American Patriot that holds a generals position gather up his troops and march on Washington & Wall Street and arrest some folks in teh name of the US People and Constitution?

I would be willing to bet you that that man would be a hero and probably be nominated for President himself!

One can only hope.

The people of the last 3 decades have given up the fight. No one wants to buck the system anymore or get involved in any conflict. The Goverment knows this and does as it wants because there is no fear of retalation.

True, but I would be willing to bet if you take away their game boys and BMW's they might get pissed enough to go get a double latte! :D:

that is the probelm, most americans that care about the government abuse , have to much to lose to really fight. most people that are smart enough to succed in life are smart enough to know something is wrong in washington. if we lived in the conditions of people in 1776, we would have marched on washington long ago.

I have to agree. People are just way beyond frustrated and disappointed. We are just downright mad. Angry mad. However, as mad as we are, most of our livestyles have gone relatively unchanged. We are entertained. We are fed. Like I said in another post, The masses are kept docile through bread and circuses.

For the americans in the 1700's to get physically involved, it took an atrocity on them personally. A seizure, a tax, death of a loved one at the hands of the crown. I think that the movie The Patriot was a pretty accurate description of what it took to get the masses motivated to do something.

I have witnessed corruption and nepotism at all levels of our government-Federal, State, County and City. It all needs to stop.

The government needs an enema. We as citizens can give it to them by staying informed, staying involved and excercising our right to vote.

If voting does not work, then what?

Soldiers from almost every country take a similar oath.

It didn't work out too well in Germany in 1933-1945, or the Soviet Union from 1917 to 1989, or a dozen Latin American countries in the 50s, all the way up to today.

Soldiers and police do what they are told. I am sure the cops in New Orleans knew they were breaking the law when they confiscated all those guns, but they did it anyway because they had been told to do it.

When they get the order to come and get you and your family and escort you to a FEMA camp, or detain you indefinitely because you fit the description of someone who threw a rock at an ATF agent, they wont think twice about whether they are doing the right thing or not. They do not care.

"panem et circenses"

"Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man,
the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time
handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now
restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things:
bread and circuses"

- Juvenal - Roman Poet

They'll care when enough of them die trying. Its going to be ugly, I don't think of it in any other way. I still feel that they are enough patriots left to put up enough fight that our Military leaders will eventually step in and take control of Washington. Its gonna be ugly but the question is: will you have what it takes to resist and survive?
