Why is this not considered a hate crime?

 

it should be considered a hate crime, but hate crime legislation is made to protect minorities and its hard to "prove" it was a hate crime if it was done against a white man. its total b.s. and i agree they should be charged with hate crimes. there should also be a new crime catergory "crime of cowardice" which multiple people attack one victim, especially if the victim is significantly old

 

This is starting to appear all too common. I for one do not like it. These teenagers are roaming around in packs excercising pack mentality. I will have no hesitation in defending myself or my family or even a stranger if I happen upon a 6 to 1 beat down. Does everyone remember the previous news articles where the groups numbered 12 or more?

 

Why I now carry. I have seen many a time teens with nothing better to do walking the streets in my neighborhood. I have been cased.

 

This is just disgusting. These thugs should just be locked up and not be able to see the light of day again.

 

I dont want to pay for these kids... Wish the guy had purchased about $1.50 in ammo. Knock out game is popular here among the hood rats.

lasy night i was riding the train home from work and i noticed a sticker on the seat in front of me that said something about "in the US the majority of hate crimes are committed by blacks against whites... " and it went on and on but the angle of the seat made it so i couldnt read it.. i didnt give it much thought, it struck me as some racist sticker or something basically.

But maybe that is entirely true, i've seen a few stories about stuff liek this, big groups of black teens beating white kids half to death or to death, yet i dont think ive ever seen one declaired a hate crime. Yet if a gay guy gets beaten by multiple people here, or a black man gets beaten by multiple people here, you guessed it = hate crime.

Seems a bit one sided.

 

be a nice twist to see the local american legion or am vets branch all get together for some vigilante justice .....

note about hate crimes , its bull**** .... to prosecute any group differently assault is assault people need to quit thinking as groups and treat every body as individuals .... i use to know a young white guy who was in a bar fight with a black guy and they sent the white guy to prison for a hate crime because he had a confederate flag tattoo , but it was just a regular ol bar fight between two young drunks ... now that young guy went to prison to become a hardened criminal with a felony on his record all over a stupid ol bar fight

I am in the age bracket where I would be considered elderly. If I am attacked by more than one thug, I believe I can articulate how I was in fear for my life or grievious bodily harm, and I will take appropriate action to stop the aggression. I do have the means to protect myself at all times. "Nuff said.

Are you referring to the "CHRISTIAN-NEWSOME" MURDERS...I think it was in TENN a few years ago. Guess what...it seems that, notwithstanding all of the perps were convicted...but now it seems that the convictions will be revisited...due to some FABRICATED trial(s) "MISTAKES".

The irony regarding this crap in PHILLY is quite simple...when the PHILLY MOB was pretty much running things (ANGELO BRUNO, et. al) this nonsense would have been dealt with PRONTO , and with FINALITY. There is a book which I read over 35 years ago entitled, "CITY POLICE", about the goings-on and the relative "PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE" and co-operation between the PHILLY PD and "THE MOB". In my background i've had many occasions in dealing with the "FAMILIES" from NY to PHILLY, and while I had no love nor fascination with them, my main observations were that they DID BELIEVE in old-fashioned values and DID HAVE a sense of HONOR. As I stated, this crap would have been resolved, handled "IN-HOUSE", and peace would be restored...OR ELSE. In those days you could walk ANY street.

 

They should all be pinned to the ground using 3 foot-long needles and left for the ants and vultures.

Wife and I live in a rural area, but this stuff is happenning more and more. Last week I applied for my concealed carry permit, it was the wife's idea. It should be here any day.
It's a damn shame our country has sunk to this low.

Sorry guys but this is not a black vs white issue. I think the perps were hispanic and maybe black. But this is happening to older folks in the area all the time. My office is 10 blocks west of the attack and my girls are scared to death that this might happen to me or my wife. An elderly asian guy was punched from behind and knocked down with a fractured skull 4 weeks ago and the mother of one of the perps turned him in. 2 months ago an elderly black woman had her collar bone broken when a scumbag tried to snatch off her gold cross. Wake up the young folks have no values... from all races. I stay armed in my office all the time and won't even go out for the newspaper!
