As I had a similar thread going in 2014, here are all the current links to new proposed bills that have been introduced into the senate and house. I will do my best to keep this thread updated.

If you don't already know POPVOX, it's a great tool to quickly reach your representatives and voice your opinion. POPVOX requires a quick and quick sign-up but from then on out it's very quick and easy to utilize.

I'm on the fence about new federal laws that are supposed to protect firearms ownership and individual use, as it's pretty clearly stated in writing within the supreme law of the land as Shall Not Be Infringed. Not to mention that the Bill of Rights begins with the phrase "Congress shall make no law...."

I'd much rather see the repealing of unconstitutional federal laws such as NFA, OCCSSA, GCA, FOPA, UFA, GFSZA, & BHVPA. And the disbanding of federal regulatory agencies such as the BAFTE, EPA, FCC, FDA, etc. So supporting bills to amend already unconstitutional laws for political pandering does not sit so well with me.

I am much more supportive of the several states exercising their sovereignty and utilizing what the 10th amendment was written for. We have been seeing a growing trend of the several states standing up to DC and utilizing nullification as the rightful remedy to federalist tyranny.

S 173 is key. Right now, guns made before 1898 are considered "antique." SB 173 would peg it to the current year, minus 100 years. If implemented, any gun sold this year would be an antique if made on or before 1915, meaning NO federal regulation, no background check, etc. So, every year that passes would be another year worth of guns that can be mailed to anyone across the country as easily as one might mail a book or a coin or a sweater. I believe, and I would have to review the law, that it would also be exempt from the NFA and GCA in their entirety. :thumb:

Pretty disgusting how many bills are up for proposal in relation to arms considering the Second Amendment needs no supporting legislation and it prohibits any offending legislation.

Giving a tongue lashing to supposed "servants" isn't going to fix anything. Real servants don't dictate terms of employment at gunpoint.

All we need is a law saying that government has to obey the law, and none of these others will be necessary.

A state preemption law in my state greatly reduced the ability of corrupt local governments to illegally infringe on the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. A national preemption law is already on the books; it's called The Second Amendment. So all we really need is for government to obey the law. And if it doesn't, what difference will a thousand more laws make?

That having been said, I do support some of the ones listed in the OP, since I am not one to let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

Yeah, no more laws. We need to elect people who are going to remove laws, not add more.

Oh, and the US Constitution is already a concealed carry permit for everyone.
Actually, the Constitution is silent on the matter of carrying civilian arms for personal self defense against criminals. The Founding Fathers had no reason to believe that anyone would violate the natural right of defending oneself from miscreants. The Second Amendment only clarifies the use of military-capable arms against enemies foreign and domestic, including a disobedient government. The right to defend oneself from miscreants was ready both an absolute natural right and a well-established common law right, the the Constitution defers to all such existing rights, and claims no authority to violate them.

In before the lock!

:D:

anything that remotely resembles freedom is going to be banned in due time, might as well get it while the getting is good...

edit: also so far as reading that; this would be illegal.

lol....

FYI, from my reading it doesn't stop us from making rifles and firearms at home, it just stops the sale of 80%'s...

so if you still have the skills and tools required to go from 0% you should be ok... so as long you don't buy a piece of billet that's advertised as a 0% lower, lol

It would ban anything to be used to produce a firearm. It could easily be expanded to include certain materials.

Look at fertilizer.
