In Ohio they are considered a pest and can be taken any time. I'm not sure where you are but these animals are pretty destructive where ever they take hold. Thin them out and fatten up your freezer.
If my neighbor hadn't had a wild party with lots of shouting and shooting guns until midnight, I might have been able to shoot one.

I don't think these are all of them. They run in herds along the pipeline.

When the SHTF, I'm going to be eating lots of pork.
Maybe you should be putting that pork in some vaccum sealed bags in a chest freezer now so the deer will have more corn to eat and you won't have to worry about someone else taking the hogs when SHTF.

My father-in-law use to make some delicious dried pork and venison sausage. He has passed away and I didn't think to ask for the recipe. I asked my mother-in-law for it, but she hasn't answered my email. I'm guesssing that she doesn't have it either. :(

I hit a 100# porker with my car on my way to work this morning, just grazed it doing 70
When i lived in PA. we'd shoot 4 does and slaughter a 300# pig and about 15 rabbits......man.....that was good sausage. Only thing is everyone that could have passed down the recipe has passed on. :(

This was true of central California when I lived there as well. They breed like rabbits and eat everything in sight and in reach. They were also very aggressive around people and pets. They became so dominant that the state of California allowed year around hunting and put no limit on the amount the hunters could kill.
