I could tell you what I would buy, but I won't ... because you should buy what you eat/like ... not what other folks would.

Also watch for sales, most canned goods go on sale every so often.

Pretty much stock up what you like, when its on sale.

Anything you like, or eat on a regular basis should be stocked.

Also, if you eat/like pasta it stores well too :)

I try to make it a point to try one new thing every time I shop. We have our favorites but I tend to ignore everything else so who knows what as yet unknown new favorite is just waiting to be discovered. Canned meat-type things are an area I have to stretch and try new ideas in. We've found a few we've added to our preps and a few we were really grateful I bought a can instead of a case. :)

After a year living on preps, I would say veggies and fruit. It was lacking and we NEED the vitamins they provide. If you catch a sale, that is 200 cans of fruit and veg. We did have meat but, if you don't have any stored, add some of that.

Outside of that add dried beans to your stores.

Tomato stuff does not have a long shelf life, anything with red sauce will go bad in 5 years, just my exp
True, get some tomato powder, it tastes better than any commercial product and lasts forever and is actually affordable, often times cheaper than stuff in a can or jar. Outside of home canned tomato goodness, tomato powder is the only way to go.

****Tomato products in glass last for decades. :)

read your labels on the canned fruit and veggies... some are lacking or have little vitamins, especially canned fruit with corn syrup. Adding a multivitamins to your preps couldn't hurt.
